My extremely dirty Remington 597 did NOT like being 10-15 degrees (F). The CZ SP-01, of course, didn't care. Liberty Mystic suppressor / silencer on both. Man it is QUIET on the sub-sonic 9mm! Like, crazy quiet. The .22 lr would be as quiet or even quieter if it were sub-sonic. Unfortunately, the .22 ammo I have is all supersonic out of a rifle and all of that noise you hear is the crack of the bullet's sonic boom. The same ammo through the same suppressor is nearly silent out of a pistol, because the shorter barrel keeps it below the speed of sound. Shooting and tabletop review (including field strip) of Walther's brand new concealed carry pistol, the CCP. It's the return of HK's gas piston system of delayed blowback operation first -- and only -- seen in the P7!

Didn't see this one coming! We hit the range with the new Ruger-57, a 5.7x28mm pistol from Ruger that's quite the competitor for the FN Five-seveN.

What better choice for your bug out bag or for the zombie apocalypse than a super lightweight, semi-auto pistol that holds 30 rounds?!?! The Kel-Tec PMR30 fits the bill here with 30 rounds of .22 magnum on tap, in a package that only weighs 1.2 pounds fully loaded! Decent accuracy and solid velocity from that .22 WMR round, with many bullet types and weights to choose from for everything from personal defense to varmint and small animal hunting. Lots of carbines and rifles are chambered for this round, which can make for a great combo. You can easily carry many hundreds of rounds of spare or loaded ammo with you. One great thing about .22 mag is that it's common enough to be readily available but unpopular enough that it doesn't disappear from the shelves during crazy ammo buying panics.
Overall, this is a really fun gun to shoot and it can be handy for lots of different uses! Many people completely disbelieve the fact that this is not only possible, but actually works just fine. Hopefully this video proves that you CAN shoot .40 S&W through a completely and totally unmodified Glock, including using the factory 10mm magazines. I do this with my Gen3 Glock 20SF and I do it at the end of the video with my Gen4 Glock 29.

FOR A FULL TECHNICAL EXPLANATION OF WHY THIS IS SAFE, AND WHY THE DOUBTERS ARE WRONG, PLEASE READ MY POST HERE: http://calguns.net/calgunforum/showpost.php?s=9b5e1976e1fc4f857cc32f1e2ee51d91&p=12923947&postcount=20
.40 Smith & Wesson (some say S&W stands for "Short & Weak," but they're just 10mm snobs) was designed out of the 10mm cartridge. The FBI wanted something with less recoil. .40 S&W is 100% exactly identical in every single way to 10mm except that the brass case is shorter. Same bullets, usually the same type of gunpowder, same case diameter and rim, same primer, etc. Because the case is shorter, .40 S&W also holds less powder, which is what makes it a weaker round with less recoil than 10mm.
It feeds, fires, and ejects from a 10mm Glock because the power level is at the very bottom of the range -- but within the range -- of power needed to cycle the action reliably. Even though the case does not headspace against the front of the chamber, the case remains held against the breech face by the extractor.
Negatives: 1) not as accurate as using a .40-specific barrel. This is because the bullet doesn't contact the rifling when the round is chambered and therefore it has a better chance of not being centered and aligned perfectly. 2) you'll want to clean out your chamber sooner. Since the front part of the chamber is now exposed to the combustion process, whereas it's better sealed w/ the 10mm, it'll get dirtier.
I would NOT trust this in a defensive gun. There is a chance that the round could pop out of the extractor and end up too far in the chamber, and it would not fire. More likely, however, is that it doesn't eject fully and you get a stovepipe or double-feed, etc. That said, I've shot a couple hundred rounds of .40 through my 10mm Glocks with the barrel and spring combos that you see in this video, and have not had even one single failure of any sort whatsoever. But I would not depend on it when it really counted. You absolutely can purchase a .40 caliber barrel for installing in a 10mm Glock (or any number of other caliber/gun conversion barrels, of course). The proper barrel and a lighter recoil spring to better match the .40 ammo would be ideal if you really want to shoot primarily .40 S&W but you want to do it out of a different Glock.
