Nakamichi DR-10 - the last 3-head deck made by this great company!
Short review of Nakamichi's last 3 Head cassette deck, model DR-10. Legend goes that this was "the last" 3-head Nakamichi cassette deck produced. Mine was from Japan, but some of the last batch was Made in Taiwan. Mystery or not, I took a look at this fabulous machine that makes sound coming from it warm and exciting !

But, this deck is not in perfect working condition, it has one problem. Playback is working perfectly fine, but recording is not! While you're recording prerecorded tapes, it will not erase properly previous recording, it'll just "add up" new recording on top of old one!
I guess, it needs more service.. But, for playing tapes, this is great cassette deck!
Here we have one of the latest vintage double auto reverse cassette deck produced by Onkyo, model TA-RW111. Yes, it's basic cassette deck from Onkyo, but it sounds great, I like it.

If you can pass that cheaper plastic, that was normal for the cassette deck industry at the end of the tape time, yes, it's a decent cassette deck. It'll help you transfer your cassette deck collection into digital world.
It has nice but size LCD with peak meters and one shareable counter, but also comes with Dolby B and C, and Hx Pro. With Auto reverse function, you can play 180 minutes of music continuously.
Here we have one of the advanced SONY double cassette decks, I say, any dual deck with both decks recording are basically very good, this is also true for this TC-WE625 model. This one has auto recording level calibration (not a fan) and Random Music Sensor
Besides double recording, we have Dolby B and C Hx Pro noise reduction systems and both decks are auto reverse. It's a nice looking deck, you can feel cheap plastic but the functions are on higher level. Read: It sounds better than it looks...

Here we have very old JVC TD-W330 double cassette deck with Dolby B & C noise reduction and nice large peak meters. It has mechanical counter on the left deck, and it could dub your tape in normal or high speed synchro mode.
At the time this was a nice deck to have... considering soft touch mechanism and auto tape selector on both decks. There's also an recording input level slider, but you couldn't adjust balance levels for channels... and I have to mention phones output jack.
This one came in rough condition, but it's still working as it should! You could say it's a basic cassette deck, but since it's Rotel, you get more than basic or standard.
It's a single full logic cassette deck with some nice head, Dolby B and C, time and linear digital counter and LCD, and also MPX filter for recording from radio.
There's a bit of computing, like memory play function, you can set it to play it stop on 0000 digit on counter. Sound it's quite good, it was a simple deck with bias control knob and solid performance for that time.
TC-WE305 is very basic SONY double cassette deck with mechanical controls, High Density head and DC servo controlled motors. You will also notice mechanical counter on recording deck but not on left deck that can only do playback.

You can dub your tapes at normal or high speed, for noise reduction... well, there's only Dolby B NR, and you can only adjust recording level, but there's no balance knob. And, did I mention, you would have to select cassette tape type manually for each deck.
Harman Kardon TD 420 would be horizontall front loading drawer tray good looking auto reverse cassette deck! There's a small, but functional peak meter / LCD, you can chose between Dolby B, C HxPro noise reduction system, and use MPX filter if you're recording radio program.
It's not that simple cassette deck, besides recoding level you can also adjust bias while recording, sync with Harman Kardon CD player for easier CD duplication, and there's a real time digital counter. Deck looks good and sounds great for its class.
Technics RS-TR272 is a stereo dual (double) cassette deck sold by Technics in 1998 and discontinued in 2002. It has Dolby B, C & Hx-Pro noise reduction, Auto-Reverse function, 2 heads, LCD with digital tape counter with 3 digits and auto tape type selection.

Here we have (again) Hitachi double (dual) stereo cassette deck dinosaur from 1983, model D-W800 on the table, but this time you'll see it working - I fixed it !

After some investigation, I found some weird (dead) fuse that cut electricity to both decks while I was fixing it, after replacing it deck started working again!
Here we have Hitachi double (dual) stereo cassette deck dinosaur from 1983, model D-W800 on the table, but I couldn't fix it in my 1st attempt!

What took my attention was background lights that are usual on high end 3 head cassette deck models, but this one has it too ?!?
I tried to revive it, but it was a dead end... until...
