00:00 - Intro
00:45 - Money Rules the world - Not passports
01:40 - Potential doesn't mean that something will happen.
03:10 - Nothing Good lasts in LATAM
The first thing I'll mention about this El Salvador thing is I know there's a trend online on YouTube about getting second citizenships. Especially if you go on Twitter and spend any time in the Twitter Passport Bros community, you'll see all they talk about is how you need a second passport. You know, I think if you've been watching this channel for a while, despite the content where I talk about second residency and second passports, I'm not a huge fan of that attitude that you need a second passport. I've always said, and I will always say, that instead of getting a second passport, you really should be focusing your energy on making more money, increasing your revenue streams, making new businesses, making new connections. Second passports don't really help as much as having a second $10 million. So if you're really worried about the future, I would focus on making $10 million over getting a second passport.
The second thing I'll mention is El Salvador tends to be a rather small country. That being said, it doesn't mean that they're doomed or that I know what's going to happen. You have cases like, for example, Singapore. If you talked to someone about Singapore in the 1960s, they would have said that's crazy, it's meaningless, why would you go to Singapore? Today, Singapore is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. Real estate is through the roof. So, that could potentially be El Salvador one day. But then again, it also couldn't. The other thing you have to remember is, do you have 30-40 years to see El Salvador go from one of the poorest and most dangerous countries in the world to the next Singapore?
The last thing I'll mention is that, you know, Central America is a very unstable, unpredictable place. And while, again, I'm not so familiar with the situation, I have heard that he's doing quite a good job when it comes to security and attracting foreign investments. He's still like one man, meaning, you know, if you read Latin American history since the 1500s, it's literally filled with histories of men who did good stuff. But eventually, you know, people die, they get replaced, they get a new job, they get tired of dealing with bull crap, and things go back to the way they were. So, I would be very interested, not in what's happening in El Salvador today, but what's going to happen in 10 years, right?
If you're investing time and money into something, you really should think about what it's going to be like in 10 years, not what it's going to be like today. It's already too late. And I think that's a huge misconception that a lot of people have in the investing, second passport, like, thing on YouTube and Twitter. They're really hyperfocused on today, but they never really think about what about 10 years from now? Where you might actually need a second passport or where you might actually want to move to that country to live in. Where you actually might want to like that apartment that you bought. That's the one you want to actually live in, right? What's it going to be like in 10 years?
It seems on the surface that he's doing a really good job, but again, is he going to be around in 10 years? Is he going to be the same guy in 10 years? If he is around somehow, I think those are questions you should ask yourself. And I don't have the answers for them. And I assure you, no one on Twitter, no one on YouTube, has the answers for that. So, it's something you should really be asking yourself.
Anyways, until the next video, bye.
