Kerbal Space Program - Interstellar Quest - Episode 27 - Rocket to Eeloo, Spaceplanes Into Ground.
Eeloo is the next planet in my mission program, things are aligned nicely for an encounter, although with this being so far out and so eccentric there's a lot of fuzziness. Still it'll take over a year and a half to get there. Also, some progress reports on the development of the new heavy launch shuttle with a larger cargo bay, unfortunately, this has been problematic with lots of crashes - crashes of experimental aicraft, followed by crashes of KSP. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNriYAVTXNI
Designing something that looks and flies like the Space Shuttle is very hard given the stock parts in KSP, many people make the mistake of not aligning engines through the center of mass, and not accommodating the change in location of the center of mass as fuel is burned. The real space shuttle used engines with a 20 degree gimbal range to account for this, and there are mods that support this. I'll take a look at the existing shuttle mods in another video.

At around 7:50am this morning the world famous Arecibo radio telescope collapsed after a series of failures weakened its structural integrity over the last few months. It's possible that the final collapse was triggered by transient loads from a seismic event, and we expect to find out more in the coming hours. Based on photos of the destroyed structure I've tried to lay out a sequence of events that explains the distribution of wreckage.

The launch window for Mars is open, and we have 3 spacecraft headed for the red planet from 3 different countries, and performing 3 very different missions. Let's talk about these missions, and since I was asked on twitter, I'm going to explain how mission planners pick launch dates using 'Pork Chop Plots'

From Reddit - another challenge.
"When the scavenging crews rocket part contract giver where looking around the junkyard a high tech facility they found an orange tank that was open for use. In a space program facing recent cuts (something about spreading nuclear radiation all over the solar system) this is a rare find. You must use it to do science!
The Challenge: Get a rocket to the Mun and back (flyby only) using only one orange tank as fuel. No other fuel or RCS is allowed. You must land safely back at Kerbin. You must also bring a full scientific kit: Thermometer, gravioli measurer, barometer, and accelerometer."
In the end I went above and beyond, landing on Duna and Ike before returning home

Finally, we enter the sphere of influence of the red planet after a long voyage, some preparations are made to stabilize the ship against the stresses of aerocapture. Also, an important launch to the Eve Explorer mission has a technical problem which forces me to perform rendezvous in an unorthodox manner.

Surveying the moon using an old fashioned film camera, we made some errors during injection and as a result missed our ideal orbit. The spacecraft ends up surveying only low latitudes leaving no survey coverage on the poles.

Literally a livestream of me playing KSP on my Playstation 4 using the built in streaming capabilities of the PS4.
The Console versions of the game are identical to the PC version, with the major change being the control scheme which tries to put all the common controls on the gamepad. This meant that I spent a lot of time trying to figure out controls and not really playing it well.
The microphone was a lapel mic which sometimes distorted, sorry about that I don't know if there's a way to get feedback.
The UI being offset from the edges is an option in the PS4 Display setup menu, I'll fix it for future videos.
