Just a quick video showing how easy it is to make a camera boom for your tripod using a selfie stick. I use my tripod a lot in making my DIY tabletop or workbench videos but the tripod will not get the camera in close. By simply attaching a cheap selfie stick to the handle of the tripod I can get excellent video and photos of my work in progress for my DIY videos. If you are interested in making videos I have a playlist of videos I have made or by other people that I like who cover low budget video making. All my DIY low cost video & Film making videos
if you lost your sound in your youtube videos, save some time and read the following:
Top 3 ways to fix no sound or audio in your YouTube videos
1.) verify your sound card is working and see if a video on your computer will play the audio, or go to a site like vimeo and play a video there and see if the sound comes through. if you have sound in other videos not on YouTube your sound card is working.
2.) Your sound may be turned off on your computer, or on the actual YouTube video. Go to your computer controls and click on the speaker to see if there is an X which would mean you have muted your volume. Click the x to unlock your speaker sound. Your YouTube video player also has a speaker below the video, click on the x if it is showing to unlock the sound on your YouTube video.
3.) Download the latest Adobe Flash player. Go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ to see if you have the latest version of Flash installed on your computer. If you do not have the newest Adobe Flash, that may be the solution.
Finally, if none of these solutions help, you can check to see if you have updated all of your drivers. , yiou can also try installing and using an alternate browser like chrome or Firefox.
Hope this helps.
If you like my videos, I add more everyweek.

I needed to ship a small outboard motor but couldn't find any information online about how to make a shipping container that would support it while being shipped. The motor I was shipping was a 3 hp Yamaha that weighed 39 1/2 pounds.
It would've been faster and sturdier to construct a wooden container but I was concerned about making the container too heavy as I had been given inaccurate information regarding the final weight of the box and thought I could not go over 50 pounds. There is a surcharge if I go over 50 pounds but I can go up to 70 pounds.
The cardboard box took a long time due to the need to have the glue to dry before assembling other parts.
I purchased two U-Haul sport utility boxes that are 48 inches tall and 15" x 15". I cut the boxes down the middle on one end and then used tight bond to wood glue to glue the bottoms together after I fit them to the right size. Then began the long process of gluing one part of the time. I glued one side and held the cardboard down with bricks and heavyweights and then it dried for about eight hours. I would do another side.
The motor was protected by cutting out the end of a small storage bin and sliding the shaft of the motor through allowing the heavy part of the motor which is the head of it down inside the storage bin.
The motor stuck out above the top of the storage bin so I cut out a hole for it and then encased it in foam one layer at a time. I covered the top with cardboard. Then I wrapped the motor and foam with plastic wrap.
I put a small plastic bucket over the propeller and tied it down securely. Having the motor encased in a small storage bin simplified the process of making the shipping container.
When the box was finished, I inserted the motor and used some foam to level it on the bottom. Then I folded the top down included and put some weights on it and let it dry. In the end, the box was very sturdy.
I put some labels on the box indicating which part was up to help in the shipment and then went to a pack and ship store where they helped me fill out a label and find the least expensive shipping method.
I went with UPS. I think UPS has a 70-pound limit for boxes. If the box is over 50 pounds. There is a surcharge.
This was a simple process but it took a long time due to the fact that the glue had to dry before it went to the next part. The part that took the longest was deciding on how to make it.
Initially, I was going to buy some inflatable beach balls and air mattresses. I saw it for sale at Walmart for just a dollar apiece. However, I think my final method was satisfactory.

I am eating a lot of sardines and wanted to make a gadget or two with the empty cans.
I went online to see if anyone had made what I was wanting to make and was surprised to see no one has. However, I was more surprised to see all the art that people were making with the humble sardine can. I enjoyed the surprises I found so much I wanted to share them in a video.
Hope you like it. I will be posting my gadget soon.
Also, I have a playlist of videos focusing on items that are usually discarded such as license plates or plastic bottles
or pool noodles, etc,

This video is one of the best relaxation videos on Youtube! The video is Broccoli seeds at 432 Hz! How more relaxing can you get? If you like this one I am working on Bakers yeast at 432 Hz that is going to be even better. LOL
Seriously, I have started making Broccoli sprouts and noticed something cool the seeds were doing after I soaked them. I recorded it and added the appropriate music. I like it a lot - This usually means I will be getting a lot of unsubscribers, LOL.
I will be adding some normal Broccoli sprout videos later.
I have over 1000 videos and have been adding new videos every week for 14 years.

I am beginning to organize and declutter my apartment. You can't have new stuff unless you get rid of old stuff and make space.
I saw some clips to hold my spice bottles and almost made some from thin wall PVC, but could not find the right diameter so bought some cheap clips on amazon. I was surprised how easy they were to attach to the doors and they work very well. To be safe, just use light plastic spice containers, I don't think the heavy glass containers will stay put for long. Gravity wins every time.
If you are interested, here is the link to the clips I bought on amazon
Bellemain Spice Gripper Clip Strips
If you have access to thin walled PVC, it should be easy to cut them and attach to a thin strip of wood and make your own clips.
I also bought some cheap $2 plastic tray containers at walmart to use in the refrigerator that organize it very well and am building more lazy susans for canned goods in the pantry and making other organizational changes in the apartment. I guess spring is here. LOL
Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed the video. I add more videos every week.

How to make stuff for free from Amazon cardboard boxes and shipping material. This is a case for tools made from cardboard and foam shipping material that came from Amazon.
The little case is used to store a small NEIKO offset ratchet screwdriver and bits. The process is simple and can be used to make a case or box for many other items.
I also go over how the dilution of the Titebond glue does not seem to cause it to lose strength when used for cardboard and paper.
I also have not seen anyone using a string and tape to make a closure for a box or case before which I found interesting

Here is a toy boat I made for a simple DIY model toy sailboat made from a shampoo bottle that actually sails much better than I anticipated. The construction parts and tools needed are listed in the video.
Many years ago, before the second world war, racing free sailing model boats was a very popular hobby. This was long before radio controlled boats and planes came into existence. It is very hard today to find model boats that will actually sail that are not RC controlled and very high in price.
By spending a short amount of time and using scraps from around the home and looking at the example in the video anyone should be able to put together this little model that will actually sail to windward.
I was not sure how well the design would work so I did not spend a lot of time on it, the boat is a little crude as a result. However, if a little extra time was spent on the model it could be refined to sail much faster and better.
I think the size and weight of the wheel weight ballast can be reduced a bit and reshaped and a jib added to give more speed. Also, more care can be taken to get a better shape in the sail and mast to increase the efficiency of the sail. The shape of the sail and airflow over the spars is perhaps the most critical detail in a successful sailboat. The flat bow of the bottle can also be made boat shaped to travel through the water and the keel can be smoothed out quite a bit. I also think a pin would secure the tiller to the wood I placed below it on the hull easier than tying it with the thread.
If you have even a small pond available this would be a fun project to get your children involved in making things. Learning about sailing causes a person to encounter and acquire a broad area of knowledge about so many wonderful areas of science. Sailing can become an enjoyment to last a lifetime. That is assuming you are not eaten by turtles.
If you have any questions I will be happy to answer. I apologize again for the sound quality. I had not expected to shoot any video at all as this was the initial launching of the toy boat and I was expecting it to act up and I would have to modify it and come back later to film. I was quite surprised to see it sail to windward so well towing a fishing line.
Thanks for watching and don't forget I have almost 500 videos now. I try to add videos every week and have a lot of playlists and also feature interesting channels of people of whom I like and admire for their videos.
Finally, if you add your keel in the wrong place with hot glue, you can freeze the model and after several hours remove it from the cold and snap the glued part off to allow you to reattach it in the proper place. Hot glue is one of the very few glues that will stick to polypropylene, but it is weakened by cold as dif

I made what I am calling a LAMCAM or 3rd person camera mount rig for attaching a GoPro or Kodak Playsport or other small videocamera The Lamcam allows me to film myself without using my hands or placing the camera mount in the video frame.
I got the idea from Marty Zoffinger who used a belt to attach PVC pipe and his camera to himself while out fishing on his kayak. The rig makes for some pretty neat video shots.
I am calling my rig a LAMCAM as an acronym for "Look At Me" because when you use one everybody will be definitely looking at you.
Mine cost less than $10 to make. It is pretty steady when I am not walking but is jerky when I am mobile, however, the LAMCAM is not a Steadicam, it's purpose is only to film the film maker without placing the camera mount in the shot.
I know this is not a perfect gadget, but it is super quick and cheap to make and will lend itself to experimentation by you DIYers . I hope it helps and you guys have fun with it. I did.
Don't forget to check out Marty's channel and if you like my videos subscribe to me too, I add more videos every week.
I also have some very creative fellow YouTubers featured on my channel page and some interesting playlists if you are into making videos.
Thanks again,

I have been messing around with a little cheap inflatable, the Intex 200, which is probably the cheapest boat you can get online. It is really just a pool toy. on the other hand, after adding a rowing frame and outriggers it rowed well and I gained more respect for the little boat.
The more I thought about it the more I realized a little cheap inflatable boat might be a handy addition to the preppers tool kit.
in this video, I brainstormed all the ways a little inflatable like the Intex 200 might be useful. Don't get me wrong, there are negatives with the Intex 200, primarily with the tender nature of the plastic it is made from, and I have no doubts about its lack of durability or seaworthiness, but it fits under the seat of your car and only cost me $12, although it is now around $20.
Watch the video and see what you think.
