This is one of the easiest ways to make fire starter that I know of. It doesn't require melting wax, cutting up candles or lots of time & effort. It's also very inexpensive. We use loose leaf tea bags, wood chips (or whatever you have available) and paraffin lamp oil. A very conservative estimate puts each "tea bag" at .15 - 20 cents. During this crazy time of coronavirus pandemic why not improve skills and learn some fun projects!
Motherwort is such a valuable herb and so easy to grow! In this video I talk about cultivating motherwort (spoiler alert - it's SUPER easy) as well as the numerous medicinal uses (it's especially helpful for mothers)!

Elaeagnus multiflora, or goumi berry is native to China, Korea, and Japan. We have had good success here in North Idaho (48 deg N lat). It is an excellent shrub to add to a permaculture system, or any system for that matter, because it provides a great berry for sustenance, medicine and the shrub is nitrogen fixing. This makes it an all around great plant in my book.

This principle is foundational in the self defense world. It is more important than studying the martial arts, owning and training with a firearm etc... it is to avoid dangerous places and people. It’s so simple but will keep you clear of the vast majority of potential problems.
In this video I cover a couple of key points regarding this principle like the Gift of Fear and situational awareness.
