Please, don't try to mix two kinds of ants, just cause you are nosy – that is just cruel when you do that... I didn't have a choice than to do this, cause I was unable to figure out where the ant colony was, where I had picked them up in the first place – all wood ants I saw that day, were red, because most likely it was an extremely rainy day.

If you ever have to thrust a hen (or another bird) forward - make sure you do so in an upward curve - you give the bird the speed and because you elevate it on that curve, it has time to deploy its wings and doesn't hit the ground. Think about how an airplane goes airborne (this is at least the tiny amount of aviation I have actually got until now - me learning aviation via farm birds *rofl*)... It is a similar mechanic behind how a bird is able to go forward in a glide and an airplane...
