Topic: dopamine, politics, and actions. Many people who participated in or around the time of the January 6th, 2020, event in Washington, DC, that resulted in the destruction of property and the loss of lives may never atone and still feel that they did the right thing. Keeping in mind the tragic events that occurred before, during, and after this event, here are my thoughts on how dopamine may have been an influencer in circumstances that caused some people to become emotional and take part in events that became lethal. I am not trying to make excuses for those who participated in the January 6th event or counter-protests. Regardless of their actions, I am just trying to understand why those who took part may have been motivated or triggered to do so.
