In this video, I share the hinge technique from the combat mobility system. Don't telegraph your elbow; keep it tucked. When you bend at the hips, use your glutes to come back into cover.
http://www.tridentfitness.net The Kettlebell Throw Press is a great exercise to build explosive power while building hand and eye coordination. This advanced exercise not only allows you to train acceleration of mass, but the deceleration of it as you properly stop the kettlebell from hitting the floor. The higher the throw the greater the intensity of this exercise.

Brief excerpt from our Vehicle Combatives course where we are discussing different options for working around your family in the vehicle in the case where you can't drive away and also did not have enough time to get out of the vehicle before addressing the threat. There are many techniques and tactics that can be done here. This one is a great baseline option that assures muzzle discipline and reduces the chance of a seat belt snag/lock holding them in the upright position blocking your view.

Rich Graham of Full Spectrum Warrior discusses how micromanaging your team creates resentment and discontent, how the opportunity to fail and not failing creates trust, and how if given the opportunity to create trust, you should do what you say so you don't have to be micromanaged.
For more information on how to speed up team success through trust, check out the book, Speed of Trust by Steven Covey. Link is below.

Rich Graham of Trident Fitness LLC leads a group through an out side the box workout. Kettlebell training does not have to take place in a gym, and if your in the water you don't always have to wear a swim suit. Shoes, pants, and long sleeves create much more drag in the water making things much harder. Kettlebells in the water allow you to use heavier weight and are great for learning exercises and mixing up your routine. For more info visit http://www.TridentFitness.net

I have students who run into the issue of having opposing dominant eye vs dominant hand. One approach is to train you off hand to match you dominant eye, as you will have to do this anyway when it comes to the use of any weapon with a stock or scope. Or you would do that the opposite of training your weak eye to match your dominant hand. These work, they just take more practice to make it feel natural.
The other option that works for pistols only, is to simply adjust your grip slightly kicking the back end of the pistol over towards your dominant eye. Cross hand/eye shooting can be very fast and natural with very little practice in comparison to the above method, but you will still have to face the issue again when you move on to a stocked weapon.
The main thing here though is that you bring the sites to your eyes, not your head to your sights. This is very important for defensive shooting techniques as you progress through your training.
Hope this help!

I had question come up in class of whether I press check before every drill and the answer is no. Watch the video and find out why. If there is ever any doubt to the condition of your weapon, do a press check.

Please help us raise money and awareness for our veterans who are struggling with their transition out of the military. Currently the suicide rate in the veteran community averages 22 a DAY!!! This taboo topic has a choke hold on our men and women of uniform. Please support our cause as we attempt to rebuild a spiritual foundation under our veterans and help them combat the suicidal tendencies they are experiencing.
