Really feels like the first stirrings of spring
? can be felt in the air lately... "Ark at the bods" as we say in Notts (translation - listen to the birds)
? Gorse is one of my favourite plants and is found in abundance around these parts both in the forest ? and out in the open
I often eat the flowers when I'm out walking as they make a tasty snack. You can also add them to bread, decorate cakes with them and make wine (if you know of any more uses please feel free to write in comments)
If you use the Bach Flower Remedies (which work with the essence of the plant like magic ✨) you may know that Gorse treats feelings of despair
And of course there's a local Notts song that mentions Gorse too - The Rufford Park Poachers ?✨?(snippet here)
