Map review:
Mayhem 3 is the third of three Mayhem maps by {BW} Netrider. This map was originally a multiplayer map that I republished as a single player map in Happy Hunting Map Pack as it played fine in single player. The map is an alien hive with multiple sections of the map that are filled with alien npcs. There is an underwater section (that has a missing water texture) that separates the two main areas where the aliens are.
For the most part the map is very boxy looking with not much attention to detail. The goal for the player is to destroy all the alien npcs and there are a lot of them. It gets very repetitious shooting down the same aliens over and over in large rooms. Therefore, in my video playthrough I speed up the action to not bore the viewer too much. This is probably the second best Mayhem map out of the trilogy. It's better than the original Mayhem, but not as good as Mayhem 2.

The second of OO-Edds' Ivan maps. Ivan 2 is very much a corporate vs marine set up, with the player once again playing on the side of the corporates. The Harrison enemy character seems to be used as somewhat of a boss with his increased health. Overall the map is short, but sweet.

Map review:
The Fear series of AvP2 maps are wildly regarded as some of the best maps for the game. This is the second installment in the series. In Fear 2, the player plays as the marine and is once again dropped in a scary map with no backstory or objectives. The player starts off outside and eventually makes their way underground. Once here the player will encounter creepy corridors and spooky lighting effects similar to the original Fear map. However, the horror element feels toned down a bit this time as the corridors and rooms are a lot less cramped. Some of the rooms are actually very spacious as the player has more freedom to roam around.
Fear 2 marks the first time marine npcs are introduced. They can easily die and don't help much, but they're there. The difficulty is also a bit easier this time, probably given the more generous ammo pickups and extra room to evade enemies. It should also be noted that the map isn't as dark as the first. The most memorable part of the map for most people is the jump scare with the dog. Every person that plays this map for the first time seems to get surprised by this very moment. However, for me personally, the best moment of the map is the ending. It is the ending where PsyKore ramps up the horror element. Like the first Fear, the author likes to end the map with some satanic praetorian room with creepy sounds galore.
Fear 2, like the original Fear is a must play for those seeking horror-based AvP2 maps. This map is highly recommended.

Map review:
"Outpost29SE_SP_Marine" which I will refer to as Outpost29SE for short here, is a remake of the multiplayer map "DM_outpost29SE". To give some backstory to Outpost29SE's development, it started when I was putting together "Happy Hunting Map Pack." I was testing various multiplayer maps in single player mode and I found that the map DM_outpost29SE worked ok, but needed a few things fixed like spawn points for a fully working single player experience. So I contacted HHO, the author of the map, and asked him to make small adjustments to the map for a single player version.
Instead of making the small adjustments, HHO completely revamped the map and made both a marine and predator version for it. My playthrough is of the marine version. The map layout is basically the same, but HHO made the map take place at night, changed the enemy spawns, added mission objectives and added new props all over the map. The mission objectives can be slightly confusing, but here they are. The goal for the player is to get into the APC, activate the turrets at the camp, return to the camp, enter the hive, defeat the queen, return to the APC, return to the camp and then evacuate in the helicopter.
However, the player doesn't have to evacuate and could continue fighting enemy npcs as this map can be played as a skirmish map. My favorite thing about this map is the evacuation on the helicopter ride. The aliens are ruthless when the player tries to escape. Sometimes they will joyride on the helicopter and even leave without the player.
I highly recommend this map. Go play it.

Map review:
Alien's Endgame is one third of the three Endgame missions; the others being for marine and predator. The alien version of the map might be the best of the three. Your goal is to essentially reach the end of the map where must protect the queen from two enemy predators. Along the way you will encounter a bunch of gun wielding enemies and turrets. This is a pretty standard map. However, this is also one of the few alien custom maps for single player, so check it out if you want more alien maps.

Map review:
Infestation is one of the more unique campaigns in that it uses completely new voice acting from AvP2 players. The voice acting is a bit hit and miss, but I find it amusing how the accents are applied to certain characters such as poc guards and corporates. The player, is also given new voice dialogue, plays as a corporate/merc. The level design is very reminiscent of depot, alesserfate and some of the early singleplayer missions, albeit more open.
However, it is not the voice acting that stands out for me, but it is the difficulty of the enemy ai. The aliens all appeared beefed up in health, able to withstand extra gunfire. Hamm3r, as in his Limpboy map, makes the aliens here extra aggressive in that they are very prone to head-biting upon pouncing. The predator ai is insanely absurd in how strong they are and immune to de-cloaking with emp attacks. It felt like it took ages to defeat many of the predators, especially the heavy predator. The ally npcs are essentially useless as they hardly harm any enemies and usually can't shoot straight.
Despite the absurd health boosts of some of the enemies, Infestation is a fun campaign that is worthy of a play. Just make sure you quick save often.

Map review:
Metrostation is a huge map consisting of at least two maps joined together. The major sections of the map consist of a subway, a sewer, a temple, an industrial area and a hive. While the map looks cool, it feels very lifeless. Sound is almost non-existent unless you run into enemies. There are no ambient sounds, music, etc. This made the experience of the map feel very dull.
There are plenty of enemies to combat though. The aliens will typically spawn as you approach every corner. This becomes quickly repetitive. The predator ai spawns are much more interesting and difficult to combat. This map is supposed to include various mission objectives as indicated in the readme, such as rescuing your fellow marines. The primary objective is to eliminate the queen and escape on the apc. These objectives never showed up for me during my playthrough. Furthermore, the other marines and apc never spawned.
I know other players have received the mission objectives and had the marines and apc spawn. I don't know if this map is glitched or if there is a non-glitched version of the map as well. I tried replaying the map and I still experienced the glitched version each time. So if you play this map, maybe you will experience a slightly better experience if it loads correctly?
Metrostation is not a terrible map by any means. The map comes off as lacking some polish and maybe a bit of bug testing. Give it a try.

Map review: An ok predator map. Some of the ai spawns are a bit cheap but most of the map is pretty fair. There is no real ending in this map as you just walk into the room with predators and that's it. This is the first of two Snoball Pred maps.

Map review:
Crash Land is one of the earliest custom maps made for AvP2 and it tries to do quite a bit. The map starts with an opening cutscene of a predator ship forcing the crash landing of the marine dropship. This is where the player takes control of a marine leading his squad. The goal of the map is to essentially reach the endpoint of the map.
The map is broken three major sections. The first is where the marines encounter predators npcs, then a section of alien npcs, followed by the third section of mostly human npcs. The ai marines in the player's squad are supposed to accompany the player throughout the level. They are extremely buggy and often stand around doing nothing. Once they do start following the player, they will follow but always lag behind in the distance. One of the marines is a medic which can resupply the player with health upon activation.
For whatever reason, the marines stop following the player once they make it to sentry gun/turret in the hive. From here on out, the player must complete the remainder of the map solo. I had played this map in the past multiple times and have been able to beat it easily without dieing. In my replaying of this map, I had forgotten what to do and mess up a few times. Towards the end of the map the player must grab a bomb to plant on the apc to proceed to the final door of the map. I attempted to grab the bomb early and it wouldn't work. It should be noted that the apc must spawn first, then the player can grab the bomb.
This map can be a bit difficult at first. There are a few traps and some of the ai can instantly kill the player. While not perfect, it does a lot of neat things and is a classic map.
