? ? ? What are we made of? Is it just skin and bones? Think again… In this video, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji reminds us of what we are made up of, and how temporary our bodies are.
Saloks 11 of Salok Mehalla 9:
ਪਾਂਚ ਤਤ ਕੋ ਤਨੁ ਰਚਿਓ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਚਤੁਰ ਸੁਜਾਨ ॥
paanch tat ko tan rachio jaanhu chatur sujaan |
Your body is made up of the five elements; O clever and wise one - know this well.
ਜਿਹ ਤੇ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਲੀਨ ਤਾਹਿ ਮੈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੧੧॥
jih te upjio naanakaa leen taahe mai maan |11|
Believe that you shall merge once again into the One, O Nanak, from whom you originated.
This video is part of the Salok Mehalla 9 Series:
Salok Mehalla 9 is a collection of stanzas written by Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji (Ninth Sikh Guru) and is well known to be hard hitting, a wake up call and sheds some reality on life. Many Gursikhs (Sikhs of the Guru) recite this Bani (prayer) as part of their Nitnem (Daily Sikh Prayers). Each episode in the series is 25-30 minutes, and Baljit Singh explains each Salok (stanza) in detail, using real life examples to give the Salok context.
