3.14.11 Senior Nationals Seminole Lake, FL.
Flying in the back seat with Karl I had a chance to film this incredible climb. We entered at about 1400 and left at roughly 5. Climb average was 8.5 with occasional 10+. You can see the smoke and large embers flying around in the plume with us. The climb was very turbulent and narrow requiring 80 degree bank occasionally and solid G loading. Tiffany would not have been pleased (2:55 in video...)! We ended up 3rd for the day. Karl is a truly amazing pilot. This was an incredible day for me and I learned an indescribably amount. Thank You Karl!

The SSA Good Old Boys are so out of touch. They call their US Sports class 126 to Concordia handicap contest featuring mostly 1.5 hour TAT a “Championship” but call the SGP 2.0 event held the week before a fun event and don’t even take the time to register it as a real event on the SSA Contest Calendar. It’s such a mess. #TouristTasking #TouristContests #GoodOldBoysFriendly

*UPDATED* This video shows glider 7T (Sean Fidler) in the last 10 minutes of a 160km race to decide the winner of the Australian FAI Sailplane Grand Prix qualifier. Sean is slightly low of "final glide" (altitude needed to make the finish line in an unpowered glider). He is trying to find a final climb to get high enough to make the finish but has 3-4 competitors just behind him who are already on their final glides. Who will win?
