Why are camera brands still doing free events that let users test and try their products for free? And even give you a free T-shirt? The truth is this is part of their long-term marketing campaigns.
First, you know in Malaysia, if you see the word "Free", basically you do not need to worry about the participation rate. Besides, those who are the target audiences like hardcore Nikon fans will definitely register to grab their limited spot before full.
Secondly, after letting all the participants test, try and really use the products on-hands, they even encourage you to post online and help you copy the footage to you.
Then you know people like me will publish all the test photos, and the chain effect starts to kick in. More people notice those photos, create engagement and basically turn all the participants become their marketing soldiers.
Thirdly, the more expensive the products, usually people tend to want to touch, see and feel the products before purchase. That's why for those premium products, it's still quite difficult to sell online without going to physical shops to test.
So, the next time when you join those free events, actually it's not free but just transfer the budget to invest to all the participants.
Not to forget this kind of event is very good to release poison to keep us gatai about the products.
Anyone is a Nikon fan here?
