Despite this not being a rep PR, I am pretty pleased with this performance. Weight moved quite easily, and I think I still had at least 2-3 reps in the tank, so if I wanted to, I could have hit a rep PR, but as I mentioned before, I think I am going to limit going over ten reps with conventional deadlifts, because it is just far too taxing. Besides, 9 reps is three times the prescribed rep limit for this week, so I figured that was a good spot to call it ??.
Man, I was not feeling strong at all today. Ques felt off, unracking game was really off, etc. However, my MIND wanted to excel. Despite everything, having 110 percent confidence makes all of the difference. The hardest part was just unracking the bar, but the rep itself went just fine. I just realized that you can't quite see all of the weight on the bar, particularly the 2.5 Kg plate at the end. That is unfortunate. I AIN'T NO LIAR, THOUGH. 120 Kgs MINIMUM is coming this year ??.

Well, that's what I get with setting the uprights one step higher than usual. Lesson learned! IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT. This would have been an easier and smoother rep, if it weren't for this mishap. Oh well.

I wanted to pull this with Hook Grip, but I injured my pinky finger, and decided to play it safe, and strap up, to help avoid aggravating it, too much. This is a new PR, in terms of weight lifted for reps, and at my lowest body weight in a long time. So I am really excited for what is to come, in the near future! ??

I decided to try pushing my Paused deadlifts to the next level, and really focusing on making good, long pauses of about 2-3 seconds. I'm still pausing around the same area: just off the floor, because that is where I tend to be weakest. It may not seem like much, but adding Just that extra second or so of time under such heavy tension really does make it more difficult! If I can keep progressing with this slight adjustment, I think I am going to see big progress on the horizon ??.

Another off-day, due to lackluster sleep the past few days, from my schedule being out of whack with work, and also participating in Carnaval (South/Eastern Dutch tradition) This was my 2nd attempt, after a lackluster set, where the barbell hit the J-hooks on the second rep, and completely threw me off, causing me only to get three reps. I firmly believe I could have got at least five reps, which would have been a PR, but I completely fell out of my groove, due to the mishap, and therefore lost all of my energy. I was pissed, and did not want to give up, so I figured I would at least try and go for my previous record, rested a few minutes, and here you have it. Not the prettiest set, but a better outcome than my first attempt ??.

Definitely feeling less energetic than before. I really don't want to take another deload already, hahaha, so like I mentioned before, I am going to try and take everything easier for at least this cycle, snd see how I am feeling, after this one. I didn't dial my Training Max for Deadlift back, as it is still a fair bit under my actual 1 RM. However, to be kind for my energy levels, and to hopefully assist with recovering better, I decided to just stick to the prescribed reps for this week, which is five, and call it there. I could of absolutely done a few more reps, but it was definitely feeling heavy, and my rep PR with this weight is I believe 10 or 11 reps, so I definitely did not want to go anywhere near that high right now, hahaha. It is getting REALLY HOT now in the shed, as well. Summers are killer, for me. It's gonna be a rough one.

I ended up getting to training a lot later than I usually do, due to some life stuff I had to take care of. So by the time I ended up getting to my working and top sets, I was feeling pretty tired, and low energy. Despite this, I had already set a hard cap of seven reps max going in, and I hit that fairly easily, with a around a couple reps left in the tank. I ended up rushing some of the reps in the heat of the moment I think, however; and they ended up being a tad bit of a shorter pause than I would have liked. Overall though, I am not disappointed!
