First of all I'm no pianist! ? And this is not the kind of music I'd normally do
And secondly I thought I'd try sharing the cosiness of having animals around you ? Sometimes if I forget to put the ferrets back outside in the cage I suddenly hear the piano in the dead of night ?
This song speaks to me now with the darkness and cold coming ❄️❄️❄️
"The icy winter is creeping near
Dark skies above us
Biting frost is in the air
Darkness surrounds us
The cold, piercing autumn breeze
Fills the longship sail
Soon the lakes and seas will freeze
And snow will lay its veil"
Inspired by this recording...

????
And of course the second song has a cosy, homely feel to it. Shame I got cut off
"There's a house we can build
Every room inside is filled
With things from far away
The special things I compile
Each one there to make you smile
On a rainy day"

One of the best poems and, in my opinion, best guidance for life. Reading this for my eldest boy whose birthday it is today
❤️????
Reciting from memory so there may be the odd mistake
"If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!"

On there you can learn loads about our native wild plants including things like this , how to identify plants and what you can and cannot eat according to the season. Also lots of bonus content, songs that I have not released anywhere else, some downloads and discount codes.
This was filmed late in the summer when I stumbled across a beautiful patch of Yarrow. It is one of my favourite plants and I could tell you many stories about it and its meaning to me personally. The field in the video is now very waterlogged and my dogs enjoy rolling about in the mud. The yarrow grows along the dry edges.
It also always prompts me to sing this song (though in this case "Yarrow" refers to a town - or could even be a river - of that name and I learnt it off a recording by Kate Rusby many, many years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqgV-JNxYRk)
Funnily enough (and I know the seasons have been weird lately) I saw some Yarrow in flower yesterday but it was on a grass verge by the side of a road and in the town a bit sheltered. I would not pick it to use in anything but it is just good to observe.
Would love to have your support. I think you can also sign up for free updates too on Patreon. I am new to using it so just learning myself but it looks easy enough!

English folk song - happy ending after a some fickle behaviour on part of both man and woman! Learnt from recordings by the Copper Family
"Come write me down, ye powers above
The man that first created love,
For I've a diamond in my eye
? Wherein all my joys and comforts lie. ?"
