The peer-to-peer mobile payment service lets users transfer money to one another using a mobile phone app. But the app’s soaring popularity comes from weekly cash giveaway campaigns like #CashAppFriday. Users become eligible for cash giveaways if they engage with the app on social media platforms by retweeting or replying to posts with their $cashtag — the user’s unique ID for sending and receiving money.
Scammers are targeting Cash App users and their $cashtags on social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter. These cons have begun to replace scams involving wire transfers or prepaid debit cards, the Better Business Bureau reports, leaving victims blocked by the scammer as soon as they send the funds.
Cash App might also be the recipient of online emails from phishers that use the brand name as a means to trick you into clicking on them. Their goal is to steal your personal data.
Such phishing hyperlinks may direct you to fake, online survey pages where it shows you have to complete a form to obtain a reward. Or, the hyperlinks may take you to fake Cash App login pages that require you to put in your Cash App login credentials. The crooks may resort to gaining access to your financial accounts by means of things you've entered on this website to manipulate your Cash App account and withdraw whatever money is indicated. They might also use your information for identity theft. Don't recognize them!

Publishers Clearing House (PCH) has been selling magazine subscriptions since the 1950s, but the company has become much more famous for its cash prize giveaways. PCH is responsible for doling out millions of dollars a year to lucky sweepstakes winners.
The US Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) says that PCH is a lawful sweepstake, but there are a number of scams that utilize the company s name and/or logo in an attempt to con folks out of their money.
If you are ever contacted by someone claiming to represent PCH (Put yourself in the shoes of the payer) or claiming to be a member of our company, and they ask for money (for any reasons whatsoever, such as taxes); or send or wire money (for any reason whatsoever, including taxes); or send a prepaid gift card or Green Dot Moneypak card in order to claim a sweepstakes prize, do not do it.
It's a scam, PCH says on its fraud prevention page. If you are sent an email and asked to cash it and send a portion of it back to claim the check in its entirety, just DON'T. The bank is fake, but the scam is real!
A PCH scam might use a fictitious worker's name to make their lie seem more legitimate. PCH affirms that the company will never ask for a firm allotment and will never email you asking for your financial institution or personal info linked to a prize. The Better Business Bureau warns that these scammers may endeavor to acquire you to pay extra for prizes promised.
An important piece of PCH’s brand is that it surprises winners of large prizes by sending its “Prize Patrol” to meet the winners in person. When PCH does this, it does not give advance notice by phone or email.
