This was THE hardest video I ever made. But it's also one the coolest song I've ever heard.
It was also one the most difficult songs to mix. It's pretty easy if you all play live together, but it's pretty damn hard when everybody plays along with the original and sends you their audio and video files. First problem I had was the syncing. I had to do the synthesizers in Reason and I used a BPM analyzer to see what the song's speed was. When I had done the synthesizers and electronic drums, it turned out they weren't completely in sync with the rest. So I had to cut little pieces out to fix that.
It's also hard to sync 5 different people playing. Anyway, I managed it.
Rammstein has this unique guitar sound and Mymassivehead and Stoptherobot come pretty close to it. I had to add shitloads of mid in there to get near that sound.
When I wanted to do the video, I thought it would be cool to do it in high definition wide screen, since there's 5 people playing (6 actually if you count me playing guitar and doing vocals). So I wanted to do 6 screens, but that would be pretty tight on normal resolution so I had to convert every video file sent to me into widescreen (otherwise you get these black bars on the side if you just dump them in a wide screen), and then mask all video files so the black bars don't show.. Ofcourse everybody had different file types and sizes. I tried to calculate the proportions but gave up on that. I just eyeballed it so that's why sometimes the screens aren't exactly the same size. There are some tiny mistakes in the video (like a screen peeping out from behind another screen), but I didn't wanna redo it because this was one hell of a job and it takes hours to render the whole thing.
The band: (stoptherobot suggested the band name Jammstein :-)

RoyalRumble2001 asked me if I wanted to do a collaboration of a Ramones song with him. He wanted to do Durango 95 and Lobotomy of the We're Outta Here! album. No problem I replied and so here it is. RoyalRumble is 16 years old and it's his first collaboration ever and it's the first time he recorded a video of him playing the bass.

Two songs recorded September 3rd 2005 in Bugaboo Creek, New Brunswick with my band the Mata Haris from Montreal. We were a punkband that played fast punkrock in the style of the Ramones.
I finally found the whole show and will upload that later.
