2019 Canton Hydraulic Elevator with GAL VP at Sea Oats Condominiums (N Myrtle Beach, SC)
Had to reupload this, sorry.
This place apparently had another elevator before this one. But in 2019 (via Google Maps), this place got completely revamped, and the old elevator was ripped out and replaced with a new one being this elevator, despite having the appearance of the elevator looking like it got a Slap On Mod.
This elevator was installed by Canton and uses GAL VP fixtures, which is generally rare! This thing has an epic motor, but just runs okay.
Considering GAL doesn't use any of their original fixtures no more and went the way of Thyssenkrupp and sold their soul to MAD, this is one of the last few modern elevators that uses GAL's actual fixtures!

This is a rather basic Series 1, but it runs well. It's nice to see one every once in a while, and not all at once like that one Davidson trip.

This is one of those instances to where you shouldn't let the call panels fool you. I was expecting a Traditionally Boring or a ThyssenKrapp Mr Clang and Bang, but I got a surprise instead, a Vandal Resistant Cab! Minus the TK Floor Indicator and the Emergency Phone Panel on the inside, everything else is pretty much Dover Era; the buttons, the arrow laterns, and of course the Impulse Chimes and Buzz! I like this cab! Definitely a better surprise than what I originally expected.

I have had this COP since 2022, but I was missing some key parts, literally if you know what I mean. Let's take a look at an Otis Series 1 Operation Panel!

Okay, so from what I learned, these were originally Haughton elevators from 1929, so technically my first Haughton (how did I ride my first Haughton but not a Westinghouse?!)! However, one cab is disabled (likely limitedly used and may have OG Fixtures) and the other received a GAL JetPlus mod in 1982, by DOVER???? What makes this more confusing is that it uses the 50's-60's logo on the Main Control Panel despite being a 1982 mod... like huh? And go figure, most floors are locked off besides 2. Also the cab design is weird, like there is a slant towards the door where the Laterns are.
Overall, these are simple but fine Traction Elevators with a confusing, although tasteful mod. And on some Floors, they retained the OG Call Panels, which is an awesome dedication to the old Haughton Cabs! I wonder what the OG Panel looked like since these were Former Black Buttons.

These are more cursed MAD Modded Schindler Hydros. These are not 300A's as these were put in around 1992. These more than likely had "RT" fixtures.
This mod, same as the prior one, is on the same controller and machinery, but has the MAD Beep instead. Runs better than the last set.

Also known as Morehead Corporate Plaza.
This is a weird elevator. The outside fixtures have been replaced with Innovation fixtures around 2002, but the elevator is still mostly the same on the inside.

Ahh yes, another TK Traditional. This one however is quite interesting though.
For one, Asheville slapped their logo on this one, meaning one or two things. One, they installed this elevator, or Two, they maintain it. With that in mind, this is a rather strange install. For one, it features the MEI "Microwave Beep" Chime for the Floor Passing Chime instead of the typical TK/Dover Buzz or TK "Grocery" Beep. And two the Arrow Lantern Setup and Chimes. It's a weird combo Chime with the MEI Chime and the TK/Dover Impulse Chime, which just sounds odd. Not only that, the Down Arrow is also yellow (and not red) and has a delayed Chime (being more spaced out instead of the typical Bee-Beeeeep you would hear going down on a Dover/TK). Also, some buttons glow red! This is one strange install, but it does runs well.
