We stayed in a homestay that was owned by Lepcha people just outside Darjeeling. They served us Chhaang which is a fermented millet based drink.

When I heard about the possibility to kayak around the mangroves I really wanted to do it. When I still lived in Belgium I kayak at least once a year in the rivers.
From Odayam where I was staying I took a tuktuk for about 45 minutes to then arrive at Mangrove Village Kollam. As I arrived quite late, there were no guides available so the owner himself decided to guide me instead. It was a kayak tour through mangrove forests, lakes and smaller rivers. We spotted some wildlife such as giant bats, eagles and seagulls. To top it all off we enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the water.

My overpriced ON running shoes lasted only 3 months so it was time to buy some cheaper shoes that hopefully will last longer. Also because of dengue in Nepal I needed a decent long pants. I decided to go to Mahendrapool to do some shopping at the local (fake) market.
After the shopping I decided to visit a friend's Mo:Mo restaurant called Tapari MoMo in Chipledhunga, Pokhara where I had some great Veg Jhol Mo:Mo (chicken was sold out).
Enjoy watching!
