This week has been pretty slow, with mostly egg hunt related news. But without further ado, here are the timestamps, and let’s jump straight into it. So first, let’s go over some quick developer updates, and this time it’s some really, REALLY awesome news. Yesterday, Roblox announced that ALL income from games, whether you have premium or not, will be taxed at the lower 30%, instead of the 90% for non-premium members and 30% for premium. This also came in with the news that, at least for a while, Roblox will be TRIPLING premium payouts. Honestly, all of this is great news, and, as they’ve stated in that post, this is making it much, much easier and more enticing to be a developer on Roblox. I’m glad that they’re taking steps to make it easier as a developer, and hopefully this allows some devs to use that extra cash to, say, advertise their game longer or hire another developer onto the team. Then, let’s go over some of the egg hunt news. Throughout the week, Roblox has been teasing the playerbase with some eggs, and finally as we close in on the start of the event on April 7th, we are greeted with a HUGE leak of more eggs from games that will be in games across the platform. Even though I started playing Roblox in 2011, I honestly haven’t really participated in any events or egg hunts, so I’m freaking HYPED for this one. The games that are participating are largely pretty decent, front-page games that hopefully won’t lock the eggs behind some stupid paywall, and so I’m honestly excited to get started as soon as possible. And last, let’s get through pretty much the only piece of drama this week, and who is the community cancelling this week? Well, it’s the one and only AquaVanilla. The controversial Roblox twitter user who has fallen from grace has seemingly gotten himself back into some drama, when he got into an argument with another user and said some pretty inflammatory things. He is currently some-what in the process of leaving, probably for a while, although he claims that it will be permanent. Here’s my take...where do I start? To be completely honest, I haven’t talked to him ever personally, so I only know him on a surface-level.
