I got this guy for, I think, my 13th birthday. I wanted it over the Game Boy because it had color and a TV tuner. Never got the tuner, and rarely played the unit because the battery life was awful. Then it sat on a shelf for 30 years.
Flash forward to now. I rediscovered it on my shelf and figured I'd give it a go. Whaddaya know - it doesn't work.
Hang out with me today while replace capacitors, burn myself, discover before unknown faults, run about 20 bodge wires and finally get working this memory from my childhood.

I got two Apple III's from a fellow enthusiast. One doesn't have video output, and the other doesn't even turn on. Can I fix them? I'm sure as heck gonna try! Hang out with me as I evaluate, diagnose, and repair the first of two Apple 3 computers, and give these cousins to the Apple II the love they deserve.
In this episode: bad keyboard encoders, failed logic chips, battery damage, poorly calibrated 5.25 inch floppy drives, hacked together deadbug circuits, piggybacked memory chips, wasp nests growing in the corners: it's got it all.
Apple /// Forever? Restoration and Retrobright? Maybe. Probably!

Let's get this board finished, shall we? From Javier Rivera - a Mac SE FDHD (SuperDrive) logic board that was destroyed by a leaky alkaline battery.
This board is a nasty mess, and it still has much to offer. Corroded pins, tarnished traces, even more bad chips, and a bunch of pin soldering - let's get down and get to work!!
Thanks to Javier Rivera: go subscribe to his channel. He is the King of Retrobrite!
