At this historical moment, with China undergoing dynamic change and internal challenges, its philosophical underpinnings are revisited. Speakers from Tsinghua discuss Marxism and Confucianism as understood in China, historically and within the contemporary context. Marxism shared as a central organizing philosophy by much of Eurasia until the late 20th century is discussed by Berkeley respondents in a wide-ranging conversation on comparative theory and practice.
