Psychadelic Porn Crumpets - High Visceral Pt. 1 ALBUM REVIEW
Today i'm reviewing Psychedelic Porn Crumpets' 2016 released album High Visceral Pt. 1. This is one of my highlights in terms of music of the last few months. This band delivers a unique psychedelic and hard rock sound with surprising turns and quirks along the way.
INFO: The Psychedelic Porn Crumpets are a band from Perth, Australia. At the moment they're consisting of four members: Jack McEwan, Luke Parish, Danny Caddy and Luke Reynolds. This release along with their newest album (High Visceral Pt.2) glimmers with potential and quality all the way through. Highly recommended! 8/10 ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCF__Rs3GZk

Hey peeps! Today i'm reviewing Nirvana's cover of the song "Where Did You Sleep Last Night". It's an old traditional folk song that originated during the 1870s in the US. Since then, many artists have given their interpretation of it. And in this video i mainly give my thoughts of Nirvana's performance. I then compare it to some of the other covers. Hope you enjoy!

Today i'm interviewing Ola Utaaker Segadal and Øyvind Aase Fluge, the vocalist and guitarist from Monstereo. Many of the band members originally come from Bergen, but two of them live in Oslo. I was first introduced to their music when they warmed up for Astrosaur at Krøsset in Oslo just a few weeks before this interview. And that's also where i first met Ola and initiated the idea of a possible interview in the future. THIS interview :)

INFO: My Bloody Valentine is an Irish-English rock band formed in Dublin in 83. They’re well-known for being one of the pioneering bands of the shoegaze and dream-pop genres, known for their heavy use of distortion, reverb and tremolo manipulation. With the release of their third EP You Made Me Realise in 88, vocalist and guitarist Kevin Shields used these sound manipulations on his guitar to create an atmospheric and fleeting soundscape. Coupled with Shield’s and bandmate Bilinda Butcher’s soothing vocals, their sound became the musical equivalent of a daydream. Visceral and peaceful, but also blurry and surreal. But it wasn’t always like that. Before they released You Made Me Realize and not to mention Loveless and their newer work, the still growing band took their inspiration from post-punk bands like Joy Division and The Cramps and others. Offering a sound that was similar to their contemporaries. But since they lacked a sense of identity they were often panned by critics and received little attention to begin with. But from that place, they eventually became one of the most influential bands of all time.

Video info:
Slowdive is a band with a sound and history unlike any other. Formed in Reading just before the 90s the band consisted of key members and teenage couple Rachel Goswell and Neil Halstead in addition to a revolving line-up that became more consistent over time. The band experienced early success and got recognition for being a great shoegaze band. Unfortunately they lost the attention almost as quickly as they gained it with the rise of more popular music like grunge and brit-pop. Their one shot at appealing to an evermore critical audience and press was their second album Souvlaki. And if facing pressure from their label and press wasn’t enough, the band was about to collapse. Goswell and Halstead broke up their relationship just before they started to work on the album. And neither of them knew how to function as a newly separated couple in a professional band. Because of this, making Souvlaki lead to isolation, even bigger let-downs, unexpected collaborations and a new beginning.

INFO: Modest Mouse is one of those big alternative rock bands that came out of the post-grunge era in the US. By putting out quality music, doing interesting collaborations and never breaking part, the band members moved to the forefront of modern rock music. But most fans would say that one of their albums did most of the work for them. Their second full-length album The Lonesome Crowded West from 1997. It was a versatile album filled with everything from brooding acoustics to post-punk tendencies. But aside from the versatility, vocalist and guitarist Isaac Brock managed to capture something very relatable with his lyrics. His hometown was plagued by sudden urbanization, belief in a higher power changed to belief in a good career, and overall, it seemed like he struggled to grow up and embrace change. A lot of young people resonated with this, and the album has since become a fan favorite, despite of not giving the band the critical success that they’d receive with later releases. In this video we'll take a closer look at the story of the band during the time of the recording and release of this album.
