The Guinness Sounds of Greatness competition will culminate this Friday at 214 Spanish Town Road in St Andrew. The finalists, DJ Naz, Shadrock Sound, Real Money Sound, High-Grade International Sound, Natural Vibes, Road Karma, and Unruly Stumpy will engage in musical warfare. The event starts at 10 p.m. sharp and will include performances from Jahvillani and Bounty Killer. Sound clash culture has been an integral part of the dancehall culture. According to Keith Walford, founder of veteran sound system, Bass Odyssey sounds used to clash until one emerged the winner, based on the crowd reactions, no matter how long it took. Sounds are now required to play and say things that are compliant with marketing and/or business conduct codes within specific timelines.
