Receiver noise compared between a 1985 model and 2016 model DSP, SDR receiver. Note the noise in the 7300 remains constant, independent, of RF gain setting.
We assume that the noise from the 7300 is generated by either the ADC or DSP.
Note: The IC-7300 is one of the quietest receiver on today's market. What does this say about today's market?

The Midwest Military Radio Collectors Group was formed in 2018 to encourage the restoration and use of military radio equipment, building on the success of similar groups on the East and West coasts. 9AM Central time (10AM EST) on 7296 kHz (USB). If you have an IC-7300 you can now use N1MM's software to display the rig's scope, provide point and click tuning and integrate your favorite spotter to display on the screen.
I forgot to mention that you will need to look under the WINDOW tab and activate the Spectrum DISPLAY.
