Cougar Buttes - Bullfrog Trail
Zach and Tana of Stumpers Off Road Jeep Club having fun driving their Jeep Wranglers in the "Bullfrog" area of Cougar Buttes near Johnson Valley, CA. Bullfrog is more of an off-road "area" than a 4x4 "trail" - You can drive around for hours on Bullfrog and never see the same rocks twice.. and get lost multiple times - this is why Bullfrog is one of our favorite areas at Cougar Buttes.
Cougar Buttes is located just off Camp Rock Road, a bit northeast of Highway 247 in Lucerne Valley - this is often referred to as part of Johnson Valley but it is technically Lucerne Valley. Part of Cougar Buttes is now included in the famous King of The Hammers race course so that should give an idea of how difficult this area is for off-roading.

Any stock Jeep can do Gold Mountain and most 4WD SUVs and trucks can complete the trail although there is a risk of damage.

In this short video I quickly go over how to use the menus on the Baofeng UV-5R, the Baofeng BF-F8HP, and Baofeng GT-3 - and pretty much all Baofeng ham and GMRS radios as well as most Wouxun radios, an other NON Yaesu/Icom radios.
Because the Baofeng ham radio and GMRS radio menus are similar across the entire brand these steps are the same for any of the Baofeng and other brand radios. I go over all the steps of getting into the menus, how to save a menu change and how the menu system works.

Some raw-footage of the NotaRubicon and a few other Jeeps coming down "The Chute" at the Cleghorn Ridge trail.
The Chute is at about the halfway point on the trail between Interstate 15 and Highway 138. At the top of The Chute a skull & crossbones and the words "DO NOT" are painted on a large rock. The Chute is very steep, very rutted and very narrow. You have to ride the wall most of the way down and if your tire slips off the wall your drivers-side will bash into the wall. Toward the bottom there is a large rock-ledge which you can see in the video.
