*This product has been permanently discontinued by Kenwood
*TK-3101 has been replaced by the Kenwood NX-1200/1300
https://www.kenwood.com/ca/com/lmr/nx...
*TK-3101 MUST be programmed with KPG48D/KPG54D
"Both programs are DOS only"
*TK-3101 MUST be programmed with KPG22 programming cable
"You want the plain serial version with a DB-9 connector, NOT the USB version."
*TK-3101 MUST be programmed with pure COM-1, Use the oldest PC you can find, will run on Win98
"You need a slow machine to run KPG48D or KPG54D"
"Faster machines are too quick for the radio to respond in the same speed the software on your fast computer is expecting data"
"KPG48D and KPG54D, both native DOS applications, need a pure connection to the serial COM port. USB won’t cut it."

30-channel radios CTCSS & DCS encode/decode
To change banks from A to B - Hold the PTT and the Monitor button, power on and continue to hold those two buttons. When you see the LED light up as orange then release both buttons. Then press the PTT once, then it will turn red and it will give off two beeps, then press the PTT, (two beeps for Bank B, one beep for Bank A). After you select which bank you want, let the radio set until it gives another beep and then power it off and back on.
Only downfall is that this radio does not scan

The regular stock microphone for the Kenwood ts130s was ok, but really lacked the output to drive the ts130s to her full output power!
Output RF power from my TS-130s is roughly around 85watts maximum.
