Let's take a break from new drama to talk about some older drama. Blew the dust off something I had started but never finished – part of playing catch up after my long stint of absence. I didn’t see much of a point at the time because FreeFurAll 2023 unfolded exactly like I thought it would: a dead con. Only half (if that) the attendees from last year bothered to show up due to a myriad of issues stemming from the PeaceWolf drama and the attempted cover up by Awoo Association staff. My sincerest apologies to Killa (Pedro) for the wait, who provided me a bounty of materials in the form of photos and video clips – something I’ll have to put to good use in another video or two. He came onto the show to offer his eye-witness testimony on the whole thing, noteworthy events, and other points of interest. All in all, the convention was heavily decorated but also highly depopulated, and it definitely showed – empty corridors had more cardboard cutouts than people. I can't even call this Dashcon levels - just not enough people and not enough of a cluster fu*k. A Guest of Honor has been named for next year, with the assumption that next year will be a thing. I don’t see how given how few people showed up, but maybe it will. Killa won’t be going back next year, though – this year was plenty enough for him. He spoke of how transphobic and uncomfortable staff and attendees seemed to be with regards to his colorful choice in dress, cosplaying as a transgender Killa – pink, blue, and white marked his clothing and helmet paint. He was treated with suspicion and contempt, though both attendees and staff seemed to tolerate him enough after a while that he could remain at the con. Some even spoke to him (gasp.) The con itself was nothing to write home about, though – a few panels, some meet ‘n greets, and a dead dance floor marked the occasion. About 20 fursuiters showed up for the fursuit picture and “parade,” and a lot of the old faces from last year like Diezel Raccoon and Crusader Cat were markedly absent - and for good reason. Gee, what a surprise, what a shame. No one has high hopes that FFA 2024 will be a resounding success, and my prediction is that attendance count will remain largely the same, or decrease slightly. In Episode 13, Calon heads to a desolate part of town to break into an abandoned clothing store and equip himself appropriately with a better set of clothes, then heads north, to the northern most districts of Mangolin. He heeds Killer Kaldwells order to try and get members back to the Baker Bois, who had since joined up with a gang up north by the name of the Apple Bois. Gaining their name from stealing apples that people had taken to harvesting from the orchards that used to grow in and around the outskirts of Mangolin during the earliest days following the apocalypse, they’ve been something of a local menace to the area. Locals warn Calon to tread lightly. He pitches an offer to invite them back to the gang while getting a lay of the land. A Forlorn Conclusion is a film series being uploaded to YouTube, broken up into episodes for your viewing pleasure. Filmed almost entirely on VRChat through the use of improvisational actors from all walks of life, this is an ongoing project following my novel and story ideas with bursts of creative input from the cast. This was really just a passion-project that I embarked upon months ago with the friends I made on VRChat as I took on being a movie-director as another one of my hobbies. Part 6 of my Amorous video, finishing off with Dustin and starting off with Lex and Remy. Sorry about the narration; I don't feel like I was as on point as I could have been reading off, but hey, I'll do better next time, promise. Been busy otherwise, but I've had fun with Amorous so far. OBS has been giving me a few problems since the last update with full screen view on games, which I'm currently trying my best to work through. Something a little more light hearted and chill in contrast to the drama or “e-news” content I’d been putting out, I’ve been meaning to make mention of it a while ago. Would occasionally bring up a topic of interest or topic of discussion to the table over the course of this channel, and it’d been a while since I made one. The topic of friendship is a vast and complicated one built on the experiences one shares with others over the course of their lives. As such, it would be disingenuous for me to claim I even scratched the surface going into it over an hour, and even now, there are a few things I’d make mention of in tandem to what was already said. . I was honestly kind of embarrassed in listening to myself while editing the video, but, figured that it was probably the best thing I could have said at the time I recorded it. In any case, if you can tolerate a rambly disjointed talk of a one-sided conversation on it paired with some light background music, hey, I hope you can get something out of this. There’ll probably be a follow up in the future covering other ground related to this, but hey. In the day and age of the internet and social media occupying peoples focus, it feels like the value friendship once provided is pretty cheap and “replaceable”, and I either see a lot of dysfunction amongst others, a strange fixation on ones self in relation to others, or endemic loneliness occupying ones mind.
