Robert & Ingrid at the Movies: Gamera vs Gurion
Ingrid and I are back again with another Gamera Movie Marathon as we rewind now to the original 8 movies of what is known as the Showa Era. We'll be going over it's highs and it's incredibly painful lows. Now for the record, we will be going with the AiP dubs/re-edits of the movies when applicable. The Sandy Frank dubs were just too corny (but we know at least one movie we'll have no choice but to use that one).
After the atrocity that was Gamera vs Viras, Ingrid and I are back with the fifth Showa era film. Does it make up for the troubles of its predecessor? Actually...yeah!
Okay so what problems were fixed?
Stock footage: Used but it served a purpose and was not overdone.
The Kids: A lot better and felt like real kids. Also the sister was cute as she struggled to try and get people to listen to her.
The adults: The kids are off world so any inadequacy makes sense.
The Monster: Gurion is introduced early on and is an interesting one, despite its simple design.
So yeah this fixes a lot of the problems, but what it's about? Well, basically we have more aliens as two females abduct two boys to their planet (Terra, the counter earth to our own) with the intent of eating their brains. We are introduced to Gurion as he attacks a space Gyaos (in a very gruesome one sided battle) AND, in a brush off moment, we find out there are other space Gyaos...possible a set up for the Heisei era? Hmmm?
The movie felt fun, consistent, and kept up the action very well. We highly recommend this movie!

In an amazing case of bringing a franchise back full circle, Kevin Smith gives us Clerks III, the grand finale to the Clerks Trilogy (And YES it IS a finale).
This is such a great send of to the franchise! Everyone gets a moment to shine and alot of character arcs are closed off for good. I cannot recommend this movie enough!
After suffering a massive heart attack, Randal enlists friends and fellow clerks Dante, Elias, Jay and Silent Bob to help him make a movie about life at the Quick Stop.

I'm back guys. Sorry I've been gone so long. The Insanity of the past few days took a toll.But I'm back and ready to continue with my The Ends!
Today we're talking about the Newest The End issue focusing this time on the Big Bad Symbiote himself Venom!
And it's...quite a trip! But what do you expect when it's written by Adam Warren! Basically once Eddie Brock finally died (despite Venom's best efforts to keep him alive) the Symbiote took to the stars while an Artificial Intelligence cabal expanded across the universe!
And...well...Venom starts to bond with almost every biological life form out there (and eventually every single one in existence thanks to time travel) and...well...you'll have to see for yourself how it ends.
Again this is just a trippy high concept send off to Venom but it's somewhat fitting. It's clear Warren is playing off of things Donny Cates has set up in his run but just playing things for pure fun!
