Was in a debate with a forum member the other day about if the "Airbag Reset Tool for GM by OBDII" from carprog actually worked. This is the adapter they had sold to reset older SRS modules with 908's inside via the serial data line without needing to take the units apart. I always hear others claim it never works for them. Personally, I have never had any issues and use it all the time. This video is an example of it in use. Please do not mimic the data deletion in the video hoping to clear your module it was not a crash clear, just an example of read/writing. If copied it will kill your module. The connection needed is simple, 12V, GND & Serial bus. Usually I select the mcu manually in the software. I have notice that the auto selection does not always work. The "read faults; or "clear crash" in software I have never had much luck with so I pretty much always just clear faults and crash manually, only using carprog for reading & writing the mcu. Luckily we can go in and restore the module back to its original pre-crash condition instead to remove these hard crash codes.
