In this video, I discuss how to buy Bitcoin at a 10% discount using GBTC. Although GBTC has historically traded at a large premium to its underlying value, that premium recently reversed and turned to a discount. You can now buy $100 worth of Bitcoin for about $90 using GBTC.
This trade makes money if the discount remains and BTC rallies. It also makes money if Bitcoin's price stays flat or goes down slightly, while at the same time the GBTC discount decreases.
The biggest risk is counter-party risk, if Grayscale runs into problems or has not fully reserved the trust with real BTC.

In this video, I discuss various Bitcoin custodial solutions like BlockFi, Robinhood, GBTC, and PayPal. If you buy or hold your Bitcoin using one of these custodians, you do not control your private keys, and hence do not truly own the Bitcoin.
Any of these accounts can be frozen. Bitcoin deposits at these institutions may not be fully reserved or fully backed by real BTC. Even if they are and there is a hack, the company's insurance may not cover the full loss.
Bitcoin is digital gold. Like a gold bar, it is a final settlement layer and bearer asset. If you control your own private keys, you actually own the Bitcoin.
Long-term Bitcoin hodlers should explore self-custody solutions, like holding your BTC on a hardware wallet like the Trezor:

In this video, I discuss Part 2 of Ethereum's dirty history, including the DAO hack and hard fork, as well as the Parity wallet bug.
Vitalik was happy to hard fork Ethereum to help out insiders when the DAO fork occurred, but did not step in when an external project was involved.
These two incidents reveal the double standard that Ethereum applies, as well as its lack of true decentralization and lack of credible neutrality.
By contrast, Bitcoin is truly neutral money. It is decentralized, neutral, and does not suffer from having a centralized charismatic leader like Vitalik Buterin.

In this video, I discuss the role that "synthetic Bitcoin" or "Bitcoin IOUs" could play in the suppression of Bitcoin's price. Wall Street is very fond of printing up supply for financial products that are in demand, and it could easily do the same for Bitcoin, thus pushing the effective supply of "Bitcoin" over 21 million coins.
We need to educate people about "Not your keys, not your coins."
If you buy Robinhood BTC or GBTC, or if you hold your Bitcoin on an exchange like Coinbase or Gemini, you are not holding your own private keys, and so you don't really own your Bitcoin. Your "Bitcoin" may be fact turn out to be an IOU that is not actually backed by any real Bitcoin.
I think that everyone should withdraw their Bitcoin from the exchanges and hold it on a hardware wallet like a Trezor or ColdCard wallet. If enough people do this, there could be a huge Bitcoin short squeeze as exchanges rush out to buy real Bitcoin to fulfill the withdrawal requests. It will also decrease demand for synthetic Bitcoin.

In this video, I discuss BitVM, which is a new way to bring Turing-complete computation to Bitcoin without unnecessarily burdening the base layer as Ethereum does with the EVM.
Here's the good news about BitVM:
BitVM does NOT require a soft fork or any protocol changes.
BitVM does NOT bloat the Bitcoin blockchain.
BitVM computations are NOT executed on Bitcoin, but merely verified using the Bitcoin network.
BitVM is a great example of how setting constraints can foster dev creativity, while still maintaining Bitcoin's core values of security and decentralization.

In this video, I discuss the fragility of protocols that run on proof of stake, like Ethereum.
The lower Ethereum's price falls, the more people will choose to unstake their coins, which further erodes Ethereum's security and could lead to a death spiral.
By contrast, capital deployed into the Bitcoin mining ecosystem remains there and cannot be withdrawn in the same way. Bitcoin mining machines (ASICs) can stick around for 6 years, and profit margins for ASIC manufacturers get reinvested into producing more powerful and efficient new ASICs thanks to human ingenuity and Moore's Law.
Because these ASICs have only one use (mining Bitcoin), the capital cannot flee the Bitcoin mining ecosystem as easily or as quickly as staked deposits can flee the Ethereum staking ecosystem (once withdrawals are allowed by Ethereum devs).
Regulators need to look into whether proof of stake protocols like Ethereum and Cardano are at risk of catastrophic implosions like Terra Luna.
Institutional investors need to be able to explain to their LPs how and why their investment in ETH won't end as badly as Terra Luna. Do you feel lucky, punks?

In this video, I demonstrate how to move your Bitcoin from a Ledger hardware wallet to a Blockstream Jade hardware wallet.
Here's the overview:
1) Install Sparrow Wallet on your laptop or desktop
2) Get your new Blockstream Jade hardware wallet ready with a brand new 12 word recovery seed
3) Connect Jade to Sparrow
4) Generate a fresh receive address using your Jade
5) Send some BTC from Ledger to that receive address on your Jade
Remember to never share your 12 word recovery seed with anyone, never upload it online, never enter it into a web form, never take a picture of it, never allow your smartphone or computer camera to view it, etc.
Anyone who has your 12 word recovery seed can instantly steal your Bitcoin.
To protect from floods or fire, consider stamping your recovery seed into metal. Just google "metal plates bitcoin recovery seed" to get a list of vendors.
