Fake "Air-pod" Teardown and Battery Repurpose for BT Speaker
Quick video of opening a faux-pod bluetooth earphone setup to harvest the Lipo battery. I put the battery into a bluetooth speaker that belongs to a friend's kid after his battery stopped charging.
This was sent in from someone on Reddit who had an unfortunate issue with the lens being wiped off with some Windex that stripped part of the lens coating. I happened to have a scrap 2150 around with a good lens(bad LCDs). Transplanting the lens assembly was not a big deal until I had to reconnect the LCDs. The red panel was not making good enough connection and when I was re-seating the cables, the plastic latch for the green panel popped loose. I spent a few hours trying to reseat that latch until I gave up and used the other LCD connector board I had. I will revisit repairing that board at some point but I wanted to get this finished so the owner could get it back by the weekend.
After cleaning the filter, some of the insides and replacing the lens, the picture on the unit is back to where it should be.
Around the 38:00 mark, you can hear the rain that was coming down that day. It was nuts...

This Optoma X600 was sent in because it was just sitting there flashing the LED. You could press power all you wanted and nothing would happen.
It became quickly obvious that the door switch had become detached and was hanging inside the casing.
Turns out the projector is used in an RV. Likely caught a bump and even in its case, had a bit of plastic damage. After some epoxy and fan repair, it was working fine and sent back to the owner.

Projector was sent in by a customer after a new lamp fused itself to the lamp connector. Usually this is installer error but in this case, it was hard to determine if the housing was assembled wrong or the housing was not installed properly. It's possible it was a little of both.
The company who sold the lamp decided to cover the repair for their customer since it was not an expensive repair and they would rather help their customers. Now this person will probably buy another lamp in a few years instead of throwing out their projector.

Replacing the battery inside an older UPSI bought from Monoprice.com some years ago. I can't recall if this is the 2nd or third battery but I di have 3 of these UPS' around so it might have been another unit. These arent bad UPS and for the price I have been more than happy with its performance. Hopefully this helps you replace your battery if you have to. Way cheaper than a new UPS. Peace and chicken grease.

Follow up to the DLA RS1 Connector replacement. A lamp connector was melted and had to be replaced in the projector. Fortunately it was just the connector and nothing else. Gave the unit a good cleaning afterwards.

We go over how to change the DLP Chip inside a Mitsubishi WD720U projector. This particular projector is used in a gym that is part of a national chain. They only use the Composite input(480p) via what looks like a piece of coax wire which is most likely not even the right impedance( I suspect they use general cable wire coax 75 ohm instead of 50ohm).
Also, they want to fix this on the cheap. Since its only running 480p the budget for repair was set pretty low. I was able to work with that budget since I had some used/pulled DMD chips to use and they were fine with a little yellow spot in the corner. They said, no one can see it when its up on the wall. This projector is pretty beat. I suspect his is its last rodeo and the next time it fails, it will be put out to pasture.
This repair also work for these Mitsubishi models. FD730U, UD740U, WD700U, WD720U, WD740U, and XD700U
All that said, I ended up pulling the cover off the optic assembly after the fact and giving it a quick puff of air and that knocked the dust chunk out. I did not get video of that unfortunately but you can picture some dust floating about and me making comments...
The DMD was a 1280-6138B which is compatible with 1280-6038B, 1280-6138B and 1280-6439B. The resolution is 720 native on these chips so they are pretty popular.

I was sent two of these Smart SLR60Wi projectors from a school. One had no audio out and the other has a mainboard problem.
The second projector video is/will be linked here.
(It's not, I don't have it uploaded yet, but it will be a little later today)
This projector had some physical damage, either from shipping or whoever looked at it before me. I think the schools tech took a crack at it.
I was able to fix the main problem with some DeOxit G5 (Gold) contact cleaner. This stuff is amazing contact cleaner. I swear by DeOxit brand stuff. It's not cheap but a tiny bit goes a long way.
DeOxit Gold (fairy urine) https://smile.amazon.com/Hosa-G5S-6-DeoxIT-Contact-Enhancer/dp/B00FC4YO60/ref=sr_1_4
DeOxit Red (my regular go to) https://smile.amazon.com/Hosa-D5S-6-DeoxIT-Contact-Cleaner/dp/B00006LVEU/ref=sr_1_2
Those are not affiliate links. I might set that up though, does anyone see a problem or is that cheesy to do?
The fan was pretty clogged as well. I take that apart and go over some things. I definitely mention my love of Endust...
I did lose/not get some footage at the end. The plastic top was not repaired for this projector. I decided to use the plastic top from the second projector on this projector. Then I repaired the top and installed it on the other projector. Doing that allowed me to spread out the damage so that both units are in reliable condition rather than one in mediocre at best condition.
