My 1st brother having a few goes in the stream crossing in Bee Canyon. We all had several turn in the water and shot it from different angles. The water came up just over the black trim on the side skirts. The splash came up over that. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmqe1GUkwFw
After my 1st brother failed to get the Jeep up the difficult bit, I decided to give it a go myself. Rock Mode and a lot of gas.

My brother's first attempt on a difficult hill for him. He's still learning. The first attempt he had the Renegade in Auto mode and climb a bit slow. Then he hesitated when the car lost traction at the top.
I had him back down and checked what mode he was using and had to walk him through the climb. On his way down the car scrapped the skid plates as the tires fell into the grooves. I just made the climb on my first attempt right before his.
On the 2nd attempt, you can see he hesitated at the top again when the car lost traction. I had to yell at him to push/power through it and the car will do the rest.
You can see in my other video of the 4runner, the tire type and larger tire helped him get up the hill with a lot more ease. Even though the 4runner has about half of the horsepower as the Renegade does.

I've failed climbing this hill in Auto Mode before and had to use Rock Mode with 4Low. After coaching my brother's on the climb, I also showed them how I would do it. I took the easy path and with some speed I made it up in Auto Mode and 4WD Lock on. No need for Rock Mode this time. When My brother attempt to climb this after me, we turned Rock Mode on and 4Low.

June 4, 2021. This was our time on the trail. Cell/GPS is weak on the trail. Anything off the main gravel road was not marked on Google Maps. All branching trails are dead ends, so backtracking out is the option. We did the trail in 2wd in dry conditions. We had no clearance issues in our trucks, but any smaller vehicle might have trouble with the potholes and ruts. Slowing down and driving around them will still get your through though. The main gravel road can be done in a Corolla. It's wide, graveled, and flat. On the side dirt trails, the road gets narrow. Since all the trails are in and out, you have to keep in mind of any turn outs. As you might need to back up to a wider section to allow oncoming vehicles pass.
Cameras: DJI Osmo Action. Mounted on the inside of the windshield. Settings: 4k 60fps, Rocksteady On, Temperature Threshold High, Color Normal , Dewarp Off. Battery was installed in the cameras, but we also have them plugged up to 12v power the entire time. Charging and recorder does heat up the cameras to the point of shut off. We ran our A/C on defrost to get air to flow to the camera.
Fishing Shad at the Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River on the Oregon side.
My setup was a 6ft Ugly Stik GX2 Medium Action spinning rod with 8lbs main line and 8lbs leader line (no problems). The rest of the group were using Medium/Heavy casting rods with 10lbs+ line. The Oregon side is slower flowing current and has less snags than the Washington side.
Rig: Carolina rig - Sliding 1/3 or 1/4 oz lead weight on the main line. Swivel. 3-5ft Leader line. 1/16 oz shad dart jig heads. (We were also using clip on lead weights onto the swivel, instead of sliding lead weights)
Cameras: DJI Osmo Action. Settings: 4k 60fps, rocksteady on, D-Cinelike off, and dewarp off.

First snow of the season for us and the Renegade. It's been snowing on and off in the mountains in the last month, but melting within the next few days. This is the first snow that lasted more that a day and continued to snow throughout the next 2 weeks.
The Renegade came out in the Spring of 2015 and we purchased ours at the end of April. So we've been waiting for winter to find some mud and snow we can drive it through.
The first bit of the video was on stock tires with my sisters and niece. The plan was just to get out and play in the snow. So I didn't do much driving or recording with the stock tires. I was with the wrong people to risk getting stuck in the snow.
The hood view is bad. I didn't tighten the camera mount so it's shaky and makes a lot of noise banging around. So I didn't use much of those videos.
3 Days later I went back up with the mud tires and my cousin brought along his 2011 Thundra. Now I could get into trouble and have a capable truck to pull me out if needed.
The stock tires did fine on the main trail, but not so on untouched snow. Turning in deep snow just slows you down to a halt. Even if I back up and tried to slowly clear a path forward, the stock tires would stop and spin on the deeper snow. With the mud tire's large lugs, it would dig and claw forward a bit more each time I gave a run at it.
I don't know what temp is required, but at 40 degrees F the Renegade displays a icy road warning light. It's optional for the driver to access the weather and turn on any assist if necessary. It hasn't gotten cold enough lately for that light to come on. So it was a surprise to me when I first saw it. When the Renegade sensed the tires slipping in the snow/ice it also gave a warning or traction lost and suggest changing the drive mode to snow.
The whole traction/4x4 system worked very well for me in upwards to 5 inches of snow. A sedan and 4Runner parked at the entrance of Black Mountain trail because they couldn't get past the first few patches of melting snow. These patches of snow/ice are hundreds of yards apart and the heavier snow doesn't show until 40 mins into the trail.
