This makes me think of the mess that happened just under 21 years ago in The Big Apple and how there are conspiracies saying that there were everyone from "everyday Joe" types all the way up to a top mastermind presiding over corporations and services all in cahoots. While this may sound good "on paper", which would make for a great action movie, reality begs to differ reminding us of how there are just too many "moving parts" where one part of the chain of command misses a step the whole thing can be foiled. With something like that, there would more of a chance of more than just one making such a misstep. With the mess at the Capitol, however; I am not hearing about something that took place. Rather, I am seeing it play out in real time, from the perpetrators getting off with "slaps on the wrists" (while the American public gets insulted by news titles saying something like "Capitol Rioter Gets More Than 5 Years" as if that's anything substantial on such a monumental criminal act); hearings delayed, uncooperative lawmakers and now secret services deleting text messages? How deep is this conspiracy (that's exactly what it looks like) that is supporting these entitled perpetrators who trashed the USA's most prestigious edifice? How deep is the corruption that is hindering the probe and investigations, attempting to sabotage it? Apparently two teens have died as a result in taking up a challenge on TikTok to "hit trucks". I thought this meant literally striking the vehicles with their hand or with an object. This would in itself warrant a pretty unfavorable response from the vehicle's owner. Reading the article, however; I learn the practice is akin to playing "Chicken", but instead it's with a human body - the one taking the challenge - against a moving vehicle - a truck. The challenge is completed when the person succeeds in causing the driver to either stop or to avoid hitting them by swerving out of the way. I got the idea for this partially from a friend who managed an apartment building and thus had to always answer his phone regardless of what the caller ID said. Naturally sometime he would get either telemarketers or scam calls. He once recalled the tale of how he wasted a telemarketer's time by giving obviously fictitious information such as addresses in popular TV movies "Mulberry Lane" would be one example and the caller would not "get it" for the longest time and when they did they would complain "you just wasted ten minutes of my time" and my friend would retort "now you know how it feels when you waste other people's time!", and then hang up.
