Microsoft have confirmed they’re bringing Edge browser and Advanced Threat Protector (ATP) to Linux.
Perhaps having Edge in Linux will be useful for Web developers, but I can’t see many average users going for it.

Cinnamon started life in 2011 with Linux Mint’s refusal to use either Unity or Gnome Shell. Unlike MATE they moved straight to GTK 3, but forked all the Gnome apps in order to keep the traditional look and feel.
Cinnamon is primarily used in Linux Mint, but can be installed in other Linux distros, e.g. Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, CentOS, Slackware, and Arch.

How to use Conditional If, Then, Else, ElseIf (Elif) statements to make programming decisions in Linux Bash Script Programming. In Bash we have the added complexity of awkward brackets and whitespace requirements, which can cause much frustration to programmer who is certain they have written the if statement correctly.
In this tutorial I show how:
0:14 Use If, Elif, and Else to make a Simple menu
2:06 If Not Equal !=
2:24 Greater than, Less than

Here's a Script to easily install Cinnamon desktop onto an Ubuntu Minimal / Server system.
This will give you a lightweight fast booting system, without Unity or any other desktop.
On my system with an Ubuntu Server 13.10 base it was booting up in under 10 seconds, compare that to a 30 second bootup time with Linux Mint 15 Cinnamon.
The disadvantages are it could be missing some crucial packages for Printers and Wireless Network cards, and you'll have to install all applications you require, such as: Web Browser, Email client, Office Suite, etc...
If you have a Windows 8 System with UEFI Secure Boot BIOS Ubuntu Minimal will not work properly, you'll have to use Ubuntu Server instead.
For older UEFI Non-Secure Boot and Legacy BIOS based systems you can use either Ubuntu Server or Ubuntu Minimal.
Instructions:
wget quidsup.net/sh/cinnamon.sh
bash cinnamon.sh
sudo reboot

How to Upgrade the Kernel in Ubuntu Server. WARNING Do not do this unless you're having problems with the old kernel or you're adding new hardware which is unsupported by old Kernel.
This video applies to Server version of Ubuntu (a terminal only system)
If you want the Desktop Ubuntu version then watch this video: http://youtu.be/traegZveTKo
Ubuntu Kernel Website: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/
Scroll down to the latest Kernel.
ssh into the Server
cd ~/Downloads
(mkdir ~/Downloads if you don't have the above folder)
wget (copy and paste the link for the following)
linux-headers-3.7.x-xxx-all.deb,
linux-headers-3.7.x-xxx-generic_amd64.deb
linux-image-3.7.x-xxx-generic_amd64.deb
linux-image-extra-3.7.x-xxx-generic_amd64.deb
(or wget i386 packages if you're using a 32bit system)
sudo dpkg -i linux*.deb
sudo reboot
ssh back in
uname -a (to check kernel version)
If you have any problems with the new kernel then reboot and select "Previous Versions" on the Grub Menu (hold down Shift key if Grub doesn't show by default)
dpkg --get-selections | grep linux
sudo apt-get purge linux-headers-server linux-image-server linux-server
You can also remove any older kernels to free up some harddrive space.
