Osees are an american rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 97. John Dwyer is considered the key member throughout the band’s lifespan, taking on the role as a multi instrumentalist and vocalist. But most of the time you’ll see him with a guitar over his belt buckle like a member of the beatles from an alternate universe.
His band has a sound that goes in all types of directions. Tapping into garage and punk, and psychedelic and experimental rock. In this video i thought we’d take a look at the early years of the band, their most appreciated albums and what it’s like to play their songs on guitar. I’m Lie from Lie Likes Music and this is the history, sounds and riffs of the Osees.

INFO: The Raconteurs is a rock band from Detroit, Michigan that formed in 2005. Although from Detroit, the band is based in Nashville, Tennessee. On their website some time ago there was a statement that briefly explained how the band got together, and it goes like this: “The seed was sown in an attic in the middle of a hot summer when friends Jack White and Brendan Benson got together and wrote a song that truly inspired them. This song was 'Steady, As She Goes' and the inspiration led to the creation of a full band with the addition of Lawrence and Keeler." In just a week's time they're gonna release their third album "Help Us Stranger" and i thought this would be a great occasion to talk a little bit more about their story. This is a brief introduction to The Raconteurs.

INFO: This i probably one of the weirdest bands that i’ll ever come to talk about in this video series. Black Flag’s vocalist Henry Rollins love them, Spongebob Squarepants universe was inspired by one of their albums and they’re also the only band that i’ve heard of that feature a demon god as their logo. In this video i’ll give you a brief introduction to the world of Ween.

INFO: The Piper At The Gates of Dawn is Pink Floyd’s debut album and the only album they made under the leadership of Syd Barrett. Ever since its release it’s been regarded as one of the most influential albums of psychedelic rock music and a definite step in the development of prog-rock. Originally inspired by RnB and blues, the group started experimenting with drawn-out live sessions with genre bending guitar and keyboard sounds and other-wordly rhythms. Songs such as “Astronomy Domine” and “Interstellar Overdrive” are great examples of that. But the album was not just a source of long-winded, psychedelic freak-outs. Syd was also a master at crafting short, child-like pop songs. Couple that with cutting-edge production and recording techniques, and you end up with an outstanding listening experience, that would inspire generations of musicians to come.

Video info:
The Growlers is an indie rock band from southern California and was formed back in 2006. They’re known for mixing psychedelic, garage and surf rock sounds into something that comes off as fresh and classic at the same time. The band’s line-up has changed continuously over the years, but vocalist Brooks Nielsen and guitarist Matt Taylor were the ones who started the band in the beginning. So far they’ve released 7 studio albums, gradually evolved their sound and created their own festival. Some fans even go so far as to say they created their own genre of music, beach goth. But i’ll leave it up to you to approve of this genre by the end of the video.
In this video we’ll take a brief look at their discography, musical evolution and one of their more celebrated songs Night Ride. I’m LIE from Lie Likes Music and this is the history, sounds and riffs of the Growlers.

In today's video i review Jidenna's new album The Chief. This is his debut album after releasing a series of singles in 2015 till now. I can't say that this is a recommended album in my view. Jidenna showcases a lot of potential and an eagerness to be creative, but it doesn't add up to a good result...
