Just a brief video from my visit to the WSM broadcast tower. A very historic structure that has contributed greatly to American culture; especially in the southeastern US. In addition, the diamond shaped design is rather unique and not found in very many other broadcast sites.
I recently reorganized my ham station and decided to make a brief video showing it off. It ain't the flashiest station out there by a long shot, but it works for me.
In this video, I'm showcasing my free-to-air receiving setup for Ku band satellites. I've had the dish for close to a year now but have only recently added the motor. May need a little bit more tweaking but for now I'm happy to be able to freely switch between certain satellites at will. And yes, I know I called the capitol building the white house.
Surfing through the Ku band channels on SES 3 at orbital position 103 west. There are several international news channels in addition to Cozi TV and a Christian channel. Unfortunately, the NBC feeds are encrypted and therefore unwatchable.
First signal captured on 1 meter Ku band dish. A very janky setup but good enough to pull in some transponders. I believe this is a promotion for a satellite network in Mexico.
Recently purchased a 1 meter Ku band dish and immediately set it up to see what I could find on the geostationary arc. This was the first transponder that I locked. I believe that it is a promotion for a satellite TV service in Mexico. I found out that really dialing in the weaker transponders is much more tedious than I had hoped for. Therefore, I shall be setting up a more stable mount for the dish and hopefully can pull in all kinds of stuff from free-to-air tv and radio to news feeds and more!
Channel surfing the FTA channels on 87 west. Mostly CNN feeds but some others. First time using an HDMI capture card as well as using OBS so pls no bully.
