Bob Fu, PhD, founder of ChinaAid, warns that developments in Hong Kong evolving from the recent "so-called" National Security Law—can subject any person in the world to prosecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in mainland China. Dr. Fu relates several experiences of well-known Hong Kong activists, as well as those of former and current legislators. He notes that CCP authorities have even arrested some not so prominent individuals as they speak out and take a stand for human rights and religious freedom.
Dr Fu tells about a "Good Neighbor” church in Hong Kong, striving to carry out the mission to love our neighbor as ourselves, as the "golden rule" directs. As church members have practiced this mission, however, helping the poor, the needy, those who are homeless, and victims of COVID-19, CCP authorities have punished them.
Dr. Fu presents other examples that substantiate his warning that the beginning of the National Security Law, arbitrarily enforced by the CCP virus, pretty much signifies the end of Hong Kong's freedom.
II Corinthians 3:17, however, offers hope:
The Lord is the Spirit;
and where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is liberty.

In this news update Bob Fu, PhD, founder of ChinaAid, recaps five recent stories relating to Religious Freedom and Human Rights abuses in China. He encourages viewers to pray...
1. CCP authorities storm Guiyang Renai Reformed Church and "escort" Christians away
On the morning of March 16, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities, which included the Minzong Bureau and the Public Security Bureau, stormed the Guiyang Renai Reformed Church and "escorted" approximately a dozen Christian brothers and sisters away from the service. Later that day after 5 p.m., when Elder Zhang Chunlei visited the police station to ascertain the situation, police also summoned him.
2. Elder Li Yingqiang of ERCC appeals for 5 pm prayer "gathering" for seized Guiyang Renai Reformed Church members
On March 18, Elder Li Yingqiang of Early Rain Covenant Church (ERCC) made an appeal for joint prayers at 5 pm (China time for four seized Guiyang Renai Reformed Church members….
Elder Li Yingqiang wrote:
At 5:00 p.m. today, I joined Pastor Huang Xiaoning from Guangzhou Bible Reformed Church to pray for Elder Zhang Chunlei, Brother Chen Jianguo, Sister Li Jinzhi, and Sister Li Lin from Guiyang Renai Reformed Church. They lost their freedom on Tuesday, more than 48 hours ago. We do not yet know in what name [charges], nor for how long these Brothers and Sisters will face the [Chinese Communist Party's] bondage.
Recently, I agreed with Elder Chunlei, Pastor Xiaoning, and several other pastors as well as other believers in Christ that if any of us ever lost our freedom, we would find a way to pray with those outside our prisons at 5:00 pm. Then, Brothers and Sisters still free can have a "rain or shine" prayer meeting with those of us in bondage at that time.
3. Xu Yanm visits imprisoned husband, human rights lawyer Yu Wensheng, first time in three years
When Xu Yan, the wife of human rights lawyer Yu Wensheng, visited him in Nanjing Prison for the first time in three years on March 16, she noticed that the condition of his right hand had deteriorated and that his tremors had worsened. As he cannot hold chopsticks, Lawyer Xu can barely use his right hand to eat. He can no longer write. Ms. Xu also noted that her husband now has four teeth missing.
Prior to his arrest in 2018, Lawyer Yu (54-years old) relinquished his practice to provide legal counsel to one of the 300 lawyers arrested in the “709 Crackdown.” As a result, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities arrested him for opposing their operation and his advocacy for constitutional amendment reform. In 2020, the court sentenced him to serve four years in prison, until March 1, 2022, for “inciting subversion of state power.”
4. CCP strengthens screening of reportedly "illegal religious activities"
