Composition for Harpsichord and Piano, Op. 50 (2008) - G. Stolyarov II
This experimental composition, Mr. Stolyarov's first attempt at polyphony in 2008, explores the interplay between two instruments, including their potential to simultaneously play two different but complementary melodies. The mood of this piece also alternates between tense and jubilant.
This work was remastered using the Finale 2011 software, with the Steinway Grand Piano and Harpsichord instruments.
This is a composition for two brass sections and timpani. The first brass section introduces the main melody of the piece, while the second brass section comes in once the melody is repeated; it introduces considerable ornamentation and tension into the work. The timpani provides steady, fast, omnipresent accompaniment throughout the length of the composition. The entirety of the piece is meant to reflect a determined attempt to overcome an obstacle -- a push forward despite hardship and resistance. The composition is written in the key of A minor, but transitions to C major in the final two measures to represent the successful triumph over adversity.

On Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 1 p.m. U.S. Pacific Time, the U.S. Transhumanist Party invites Didier Coeurnelle to discuss recent international developments in AI governance, provide feedback on them, and answer USTP Officers’ and audience members’ questions.
He will comment on the Bletchley Declaration, the Biden Administration’s Executive Order on Artificial Intelligence, and statements on AI safety from the Future of Life Institute and Dr. Ben Goertzel.

Statement from Dr. Ben Goertzel: “To my mind, trying to ban or constrain AI development at this point would be counterproductive and ridiculous. Banning or intentionally throttling something with so much obvious potential for improving human life as well as driving economic growth seems like an absurd and doomed proposition. It seems to me the most useful things government could do as regards AI right now would be: first, fund and promote massive-scale education of the population regarding all aspects of AI. And second, fund and promote development of open source, decentralized AI aimed at broad human benefit rather than narrower corporate, military or intelligence-agency goals.”
Didier Coeurnelle is Vice-President of AFT-Technoprog – the French Transhumanist Association. He is also co-chair of Heales (the Healthy Life Extension Society), an association that promotes a much longer life in good health. The association organizes international conferences and publishes a monthly newsletter, entitled "The Death of Death".

Part 2 of 2: The term "radical" is often misunderstood and seen as pejorative, but in reality a radical is someone who looks at issues at their *root*, as the word's etymology suggests. A radical does not always reject the status quo but does not see the status quo as a baseline for what is desirable. Mr. Stolyarov explores three types of radicalism: atheism, libertarianism, and support for indefinite life extension. He also explores why a decent minority of people are radicals on one issue, but a precious and remarkable few are radicals in multiple areas.
"Running from Death" is a unique program in which Mr. Stolyarov speaks on topics related to indefinite life extension while himself working to improve his health by running on an elliptical trainer.

In this compilation of classic transhumanist presentations from the 2010s, streamed as the U.S. Transhumanist Party Virtual Enlightenment Salon of November 13, 2022, Chairman Gennady Stolyarov II outlines a framework for thinking about various aspects of humankind’s future as a result of the attainment of radical life extension through scientific and technological progress.
Economic Effects of Life Extension – December 11, 2011
Mr. Stolyarov discusses how indefinite human life extension will bring about numerous economic benefits to human beings and human civilization. He approaches the subject from the standpoint of the idea of time preference and the time horizons that would be greatly expanded for humans who live much longer. Furthermore, indefinite human longevity will enable humans to confront major existential threats - such as the threat of a meteor impact or a new ice age - that are beyond the timeframe of the individual lifespan today.
Life Extension, Crime, and Criminal Justice – January 1, 2012
What would be the effects of indefinite human life extension on crime and the criminal-justice system? Mr. Stolyarov offers some possibilities.
Religion and Indefinite Life Extension – January 1, 2012
Mr. Stolyarov discusses the future of religious worldviews in a society where human longevity increases indefinitely and death is no longer perceived as inevitable. Mr. Stolyarov argues that religions evolve, too, and - to survive - they will need to adapt to the reality of far longer human lifespans.
Transhumanism and the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics – January 28, 2012
Mr. Stolyarov explains why, as an advocate of indefinite human life extension, he is not concerned about a posited "heat death of the universe" one googol years from now. Furthermore, he dispels a common misunderstanding about the Second Law of Thermodynamics – a misunderstanding which has led many to espouse the "heat death" hypothesis.
Impacts of Indefinite Life Extension: Answers to Common Questions – June 15, 2016
As a proponent of attaining indefinite human longevity through the progress of medical science and technology, Mr. Stolyarov is frequently asked to address key questions about the effects that indefinite life extension would have on human incentives, behaviors, and societies. Here, he offers his outlook on what some of these impacts would be.
The specific questions addressed are the following:
1. What would be the benefits of life extension?
2. What drawbacks would life extension pose?
3. Would governments ban indefinite life extension if it is achieved?

An ongoing debate in ontology concerns the question of whether ideas or the physical reality have primacy. Mr. Stolyarov addresses the implications of the primacy of the physical reality for human agency in the pursuit of life and individual flourishing. Transhumanism and life extension are in particular greatly aided by an ontological realist (and physicalist) framework of thought.

Mr. Stolyarov invited Kyrel Zantonavitch, the author of “Pure Liberal Fire: Brief Essays on the New, General, and Perfected Philosophy of Western Liberalism” and founder of The Liberal Institute, to discuss his original philosophical framework and its relationship to Objectivism, Classical Liberalism, Austrian Economics, Libertarianism, and Transhumanism. Mr. Zantonavitch was asked challenging questions regarding his ideas and provocative approach, as well as the objectives of his philosophical system. The intense discussion - which, in some places, became a debate - highlighted both areas of agreement and areas of disagreement between Mr. Stolyarov and Mr. Zantonavitch.

Mr. Stolyarov’s review of “Pure Liberal Fire” - http://www.rationalargumentator.com/index/blog/2014/05/pure-liberal-fire-review/ - describes Mr. Zantonavitch’s thinking thus: “There is perhaps not a single thinker in the world more fearless than Kyrel Zantonavitch. “Pure Liberal Fire” is the direct, provocative distillation of his thoughts on metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, politics, economics, culture, religion, and the history of philosophy – including Objectivism and Classical Liberalism. Zantonavitch seeks to evoke a pure, true liberalism, and he shows no mercy for ideologies and attitudes that constitute its antithesis. He certainly leaves no doubt in the reader’s mind about where he stands on the issues addressed – and each article within the book employs an abundance of superlative expressions – be they positive or negative. When Zantonavitch praises, he really praises – and the same goes for when he condemns.”
