Fertilizer labels give us 2, sometimes 3 forms of Nitrogen. I hope to simplify what each of these Nitrogen forms are for, what they do pH wise in the pots of our orchids, and most importantly, shed some light on the subject of Nitrogen in the Urea form and whether it is possible for our orchids to absorb this form of nitrogen. In addition to that I touch upon the subject of using Nitrogen as the base line, ppm, when mixing up a fertilizer solution and what that would mean for an orchid collection, taking several points into consideration. What happens if I over fertilize my orchids with Nitrogen? What does Nitrogen do for orchids and plants, ingeneral? The importance of Nitrogen for our plants and orchids. Why is nitrogen important for my orchids and plants? What does Nitrogen deficiency look like on my orchids and plants? How to correct Nitrogen deficiency? COME ON IN! ?? Nights are chilling down to such a degree that it is taking longer and longer before I can move the orchids outside for some natural light. The night prior to filming this video, we had our first good rain in 2 months. While I don't appreciate the rain, nature does and it is much needed! This is my part of my private orchid collection that has to hunker down indoors and together I ride out the winter months with them, eagerly anticipating Spring. I have used both fertilizers over a long period of time, and while orchids grow slowly, I am confident that I can present you with a comparison that will help you decide between the two.
