A 22-year-old man robbed a beauty store on Moscow’s central Arbat street, taking a couple bottles of perfume and mascara. He tried to quietly disappear from the store with his treasure trove but was noticed by a security guard. The man apparently didn’t want to give up his booty so easily, however, and got into a fight. He managed to escape, only to be caught later by police.
The value of the stolen goods is just a little over $100, but he may now face up to 10 years in prison. Beauty is pain, they say…

Spare a thought today for the fiancé of Republican Rep. Nancy Mace, not only because the poor chap had his advances rejected, but also because the future Mrs went on to tell a room full of God fearing people about it.
Speaking at a prayer breakfast organized by South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, Mace told the assembled crowd that ‘Patrick, my fiance, tried to pull me by my waist over this morning in bed. And I was like, “No baby, we don’t got time for that this morning, I’ve got to get to the prayer breakfast, and I’ve gotta be on time.”’ She did concede that this might be too much information, although to be fair, God will have already known about it, so...
All is not lost for poor Patrick though, as Mace did add, ‘He can wait! I’ll see him later tonight.’ Presumably, she means she’ll make it up to him by bringing him some leftovers from the breakfast.

Almost 2000 migrants have been moved from their temporary camp ahead of a fierce storm in New York. The migrants were originally housed at Brooklyn’s Floyd Bennett Field, a former airport, but have been moved via bus convoy to nearby James Madison High School until the danger has passed. However, this means that the school’s students have been forced to study remotely while the migrants are housed in the building.
A city spokesperson called the relocation a ‘protective measure,’ but locals have voiced concerns at the move. One local resident complained that ‘There’s 1,900 people getting thrown into my neighborhood, half a block from where I live and we don’t know who they are.’ Additionally, a local woman was seen shouting at the buses of migrants as they passed, angry that they had kicked all the kids out of school.
