What To Look For In A Power Supply: Things all beginners should know!
Hey guys, in today's video I am talking about power supplies. I know I said I was going to talk about CPUs but because of how important power supplies are and how they are not covered enough I felt it was important to spend some time talking about them before we get to the more fun stuff.
So in this video I make 4 points that if you follow you can't go wrong when buying a power supply. 1) make sure you are buying for a good brand. Seasonic, EVGA, Corsair, be quiet!, cooler master, XFX are all good brands.
2) make sure you are getting enough watts for your system. this is hard to figure out for most PC builders luckily there are tools such as PC part picker which will do a compatibility check. all you have to do is go to there website, configure a system and it will tell you how many watts that system will need and if the power supply you picked out will give you enough power. This is a tool most pc builders use.
3) Next up is to decide is you want a modular, semi-modular, or non-modular power supply. usually non-modular power supplies are cheaper but then you have to deal with a mess of cables you aren't gonna use. Modular power supplies are more expensive usually but do make cable management easier. Semi-modular are right in the middle usually having the 24 pin cable is soldered to the psu but the others can be detached. Its up to you and your budget which works best for you.
4) You have to make sure the power supply will actually fit into the case you want. You don't want to get all your parts just to find out that the power supply doesn't fit and you have to wait to get a new one. Again this is a great time to uses pc part picker to see if your power supply will fit.

Hey guys, so its been a while and here is why. I sold my RX Vega 64 as well as my rx 480 and rx 580. I did this because my vega 64 was over kill for my purposes and my 580 wasn't enough. I also wanted to try out custom water cooling. So I ended up buying a used gtx 1070. This card is a great value used and fits pretty well between the vega 64 and 580 in terms of performance. I also paired it with the EK A240G, which is a great value for a complete water cooling kit. I have also never used a Nvidia graphics card so this is a way for me to get hands on experience. I still love amd hard ware and still use a ryzen 7 1800x but as an enthusiast I wanted to learn more. This is the first time i brought a used gpu and that was a learning experience for sure. and this is my first custom loop. You can look forward to seeing future content on the 1070, water cooling, ebay/used parts buying, and hard ware news/discussion.

hey guys. Competition has returned to the gpu market although in a little way. AMD announces new gpu's with prices, nvidia refreshes their gpus as a response and in turn AMD drops the price of their new gpus before release. These prices are better across the board but still not quite good enough with vega being so cheap.

Hey guys this is the video I wanted to make for today. Just like I did a showcase on the Vega 56 and how it was such a good value both new and used; this video will do the same for the RX 570. I thought everyone knew of the great value of the RX 570 but after looking at the comment sections of the reviews of the 1650 that is not that case. This card provides greater performance than the 1650 at a lower cost and with the potential to over clock higher as well. In this video I take you through the searching process as well as show you a few used options, and compare it to the horrible value of the 1650. Finally I want to remind everyone that AMD is going to make some announcements towards the end of May. They could announce Navi their next Gen graphics processors. If they do and they are available in the next three months you might want to wait. However the value may be so good that it really doesn't matter. Just remember that the 570 is a 3 year old card (it is really a 470) and Nvidia's new gpu can't compete; both in performance or in price.
