At a flea market in Texas, I acquired 3 very special photoelectric smoke detectors by Gentex. One is from 1997 and the other two are from 1998. One of them I fitted with an AC cord, and the detector works great!

Here, presented for your VIEWING PLEASURE, is a vintage 1960s (late 60s) Japanese-made SANYO model MR-210 magnetic tape recorder, using ALC.
This was a gift from the YouTuber, Amberola1b! Thank you!!
Although this unit worked off original parts, I did replace a couple of leaky electrolytic condensers, as they were leaky.

The last of the songs played from a keyboard through a phase-locked loop to double the frequency.
Remember, I am not good at the keyboard!

This is a very nice reel-to-reel portable tape recorder, the Sony TC-800B (not to be confused with the very similar Sony TC-800).
This unit boasts four speeds!
Music played in this video is not by me (duh!), but is to demonstrate the recorder's recording quality with music at the various speeds.
I was too lazy to put in the song names as subtitles in the video, so I am putting them in the description.
15/16 IPS: Harald Grosskopf - Tlalocan
1 7/8 IPS: Harald Grosskopf - Mixcoatl
3 3/4 IPS: Karma - Sky Motion
7 1/2 IPS: Alexander Katenin - All We Know (Александр Катенин - Все, Что Мы Знаем)
Manual level control was used when recording the music to the tape. Voice recordings on the tape for this video were recorded with auto-level control in Speech mode,
This is a very nice recorder, with many features. Not only does it have four speeds, auto and manual level control, but also a pitch control. The unit runs off 8 D cells (12VDC) or 120VAC mains (I don't know where the power cord that fits this is, so I am forced to run it off batteries).
This model of recorder is the same model that Richard Nixon used for the Watergate tape recordings. He may have done bad things, but sure picked a nice recorder!!
Also in this video, I play audio a Futurama clip, which includes Futurama's Richard Nixon. I alway's wanted to hear the Futurama Nixon speak out of a Sony TC-800B.
I also show the difference between Speech Mode and Music Mode for the automatic level control. If you can bear this badly-lit, badly-edited crappy video, then watch!!

This long video shows a very interesting machine--the Gray Audograph.
It shows voice and music quality with both built-in and external speaker, as well as restoration work with me and SpeakerFreak95.
I got this unit from jrcstudios on YouTube.
A video of this on SpeakerFreak95's channel is here:

Third video on the RD-11B/GNQ-1 cartridge-based military-grade 1948-vintage wire recorder.
This video is shot with composite videos as I used to do before I get a nice HD camera, to satisfy the desires of TheCassettemaster on YouTube (not me!).
Also this includes direct-recording to computer of both voice and music recording quality of this DC bias recorder.
