Using N3FJP Net Manager Software Breakfast Club Net
I've been using N3FJP's Net Manager software for years and really enjoy using it. In this clip I log about 17 stations right off the bat and then pick them up for comments. You can see how easy it is. I haven't used anything else for calling the Breakfast Club Net on 3.973 MHz. Makes Net Control a breeze!
This software is very reliable and has never locked up on me or lost any contacts. One of the great things about this software is the name recall. When I type in a callsign (previously entered) it will recall the persons name. Makes me look like an elephant (great memory). It can export contacts too and even has a window for a saved preamble.
Hardware: Lenovo P580 Laptop, Icom 7000, Heil BM-10 Headset, Heil Foot Switch, Ameritron Al-811 and a 80 Meter Inverted V. Software: Windows 10 and N3FJP Net Manager.
In this video I show mainly two screens in Amateur Contact log. The one is to load the POTA configuration and the other is to edit the "other" field so that your contacts get logged properly. Good luck and good DX! See the post on my website for more info: https://www.k0pir.us/best-logging-pro…p-aclog-for-pota/

Just a short clip to show some Icom 7300 receiver settings when using it for digital modes. This includes, but not limited to JT65, JT9 & FT8. It would not include CW or RTTY (FSK).
You can elect to turn off AGC as in the video above for digital modes like FT8, JS8Call, JT65 and JT9. For PSK, Contestia, THOR, RTTY (AFSK), etc., I choose to leave my AGC on FAST. Experiment and see what the differences are!
Included:
1. Setting radio to USB-D.
2. Increasing the FIL1 to 3.6k.
3. Turning AGC, NR, NB off.
This is a short clip that will be part of an upcoming article on my website, http://www.k0pir.us Stay tuned!

Ham Radio (Amateur Radio) is a fun hobby and includes digital modes. It's easier than ever with the Icom 7300. How do you adjust power output on the Icom 7300 and Icom 7610 when operating digital modes? I'm mainly talking FT8, PSK31.I use WSJT-X, DM780 and Winwarbler. Fldigi too. The manual says to adjust the devices output level to within the ALC zone.
Use your own judgement as to how much ALC is sufficient.
In this video I'll show you how I am able to keep a consistent ALC level while adjusting power output. This works with all of my software, Winwarbler, WSJT-X, DM780 and Fldigi.
While there are a few ways to adjust the output level, please keep in mind the ALC zone. Going to far out of it will create distortion.

This is "The Last Ham Desk" project. My Ham Shack will be much improved with this desk. I wanted one that will last the rest of my life and I think this is it. It's a solid core oak door, sanded, stained, coated and waxed for longevity. This one costs less than $150 to build and you can build your own. Use different legs, wood, size and shape, it's up to you.

My Icom 7300 SDR Transceiver Panadapter, DXPatrol SDR Receiver, Inrad RX7300 modification keeping the external antenna tuner jack on the rear of the Icom 7300, Mini Circuits ZFSC-2-1 Splitter/Combiner and HDSDR. This is a sample of the receiver on 20 meters.
A little more detail: HDSDR allows us to display the 7300's scope on an external monitor. We can get better resolution and a larger picture of the scope. We can see an entire band and we can also tune the 7300 by pointing to the desired signal on the HDSDR's panadapter and clicking. Any changes done to the VFO, band and mode made by the 7300 are tracked by HDSDR and vice versa.

How many times has someone asked, "How do I sound?" Here's a good solution, record them and play it back right away.
I love the Flex 1500 and PowerSDR with the capability to do this simply and quickly.
Just click Record, then click it again to stop recording. When you're ready to play it back, key your mic and click play or better yet say "Joe here you are, you sound great, take a listen" then click play as you finish talking.
Wow I love this feature!

SEE MY ARTICLE FOR A FULL EXPLANATION: http://www.k0pir.us/alpha-moto-mobile-antenna/
I purchased my Alpha MOTO mobile antenna off of E-Bay back in January of this year. It appealed to me because it was advertised as a 6 - 40 Meter mobile antenna.
With the 102" whip, I'm pretty happy with 15, 17 and 20 meters. I'm using an Icom 7000 and LDG IT-100 auto tuner in the mobile.
I'm sorry to say, but I never had much luck making contacts on 40 meters, even with the 13 ft whip and a counterpoise. It could just be poor band conditions, but I really think my Hustler 40 meter antenna worked better.
Approx. 800 QSO's logged with my Alpha MOTO using it for NPOTA as of 9/28/16.
