I know complaints are essential for almost all of us. It’s a way to identify a problem, and a way to express yourself. The reason I’m doing this challenge is that I want to see if I can save the energy I spend feeling angry or upset with someone, or something. Could I shift my perspective and take more control of my daily life? There are lots of things you can’t change, and sometimes you feel powerless, or you lose the courage to make it work, or to improve a situation. Instead, you do something that’s more comforting, like sleeping, or watching videos that you like, or eating snacks, and drinking soft drinks. As I've said before, my place is very noisy. I can’t record anything in it because there are children yelling and running around upstairs during the day, and the fuse box in my rooms is extremely noisy, making these buzzing sounds from time to time. It’s so difficult to record music, or audio of me speaking, without constantly being interrupted. Occasionally my landlord comes into my place to change something in the fuse box, without asking my permission. And he also reminds me to clean my place properly. Which is very annoying. Sometimes I feel so angry, and I lose my motivation to create things. I decided I wanted to challenge myself to not complain for a week, to see how I would behave instead. I have so many negative thoughts overflowing in me when I’m at home. I blame myself, I blame the environment, I blame others. Imagine, if I can’t do that, if I can’t talk shit to myself, what would I do instead? I was just curious to see how I would behave. So I tried this experiment. And failed immediately on the second day. Because I wasn't feeling happy about things. I took a break for a week, and gave it a try the next week. And I failed again on the third day. This time it was because I had been working on some personal writing for four days. I wrote the piece seven times before I had something that I liked. Then after having a sleep, the writing disappeared off my computer. Pooooof. In the air. Gone. I couldn’t find it in my files on the computer. It simply disappeared. And I couldn’t remember what I wrote, so I just felt stressed and confused, and upset for the rest of the day. I was thinking, maybe we are all sim; our world is a computer game, and the program thinks what I wrote wasn’t good enough and it wants me to write it again. Anyway, I wrote another piece and it’s OK, so, it’s not the end of the world. Why do I always give myself a hard time and feel bad about my day when things don't go the way I planned?
