Okay, I didn't have any say in what parts were used... but the case is my finest piece of work. I sat with the client in her absolutely exquisite office and she wanted a computer that looked better than anything else she had. It wasn't going to be an easy task, so I decided it was right up my alley. I selected Amboyna Burl, used in Rolls Royce and Bugatti automobiles. But I wanted the light to dazzle; and so I decided to encapsulate black transparent class crystals in epoxy, seamlessly integrated into the wood. The base is polished aluminum, designed to look like a mermaid's tail. The rising part of the base to hold a lovely feminine shape. After all, this is a desk for a true lady. The USB ports were cut into the wood and I designed a lovely place to cover everything; made from Stainless steel and gold plated to match her existing furniture. One thing I regret was using the polished aluminum. Looking back, I should have used rose-gold colored brass for the base. Oh well, someone else is going to want another one. This desk took me almost three months to make. I had to make molds, router guides, and pour numerous layers of epoxy (which each take 24 hours to dry).
