This is video #042 in my playthrough of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years for the PC. This is episode 7 of Yang's Tale: The Master of Fabul. Previously, Yang and Ursula reached Level 33. Now, they will continue leveling in the Impact Crater. Overworld: Yang and Ursula resume just outside the Impact Crater. Before they enter the crater, they go east to Mount Hobs. Mount Hobs (time 0:45): On the West Slope, the party visits Namingway and stocks up on Tents. Then, they leave again. Overworld (time 1:27): They head west to the Impact Crater. Impact Crater (time 1:34): The party descends the Upper Wall. On the Middle Wall, they use Tents at the save point to advance time to a new moon. The party descends to the Floor for the bulk of their grinding. They have now reached the point where they have a fighting chance against Red Dragons, at least with the help of bands. Ursula reaches Level 34. Yang reaches Level 34. As needed, the party goes up to the save point so they can use Tents to recover MP and advance time to a new moon again. Ursula reaches Level 35. Yang reaches Level 35. Ursula reaches Level 36. Yang reaches Level 36. When the party is done grinding for now, they bounce to the surface. Overworld (time 56:40): They go east to Mount Hobs. Mount Hobs (time 56:50): On the West Slope, the party visits Namingway to stock up on consumables again. The player earns the Steam achievement "A Tale to Tell" for completing 100% of a tale's Bestiary. Interesting. The party leaves the mountain. Overworld (time 57:23): After advancing time to a new moon, the party saves outside the Impact Crater. Next time, Yang and Ursula will do one more grinding session. Thanks for watching! He carried out Wings of the Goddess Mission 48: "A Dreamy Interlude", Mission 49: "Cait in the Woods", and Mission 50: "Fork in the Road". Now, he will begin Wings of the Goddess Mission 51: "Maiden of the Dusk" and take a couple of tries at the final boss of this storyline. Walk of Echoes: Heorot resumes in the Walk of Echoes. He uses the Veridical Conflux to teleport to Witchfire Glen in Grauberg [S], Gustaberg Front. Grauberg [S] (time 1:13): Heorot arrives at F-5 in the Witchfire Glen. He examines the Veridical Conflux. This triggers a cutscene with Lilisette and Cait Sith. Heorot answers that he is ready, naturally. Walk of Echoes (time 2:46): Another cutscene takes place when Heorot and friends arrive in the Walk of Echoes. We learn what Lilith is, though I had already figured it out. When Heorot gains control, he goes upstairs and examines the Ornate Door. This triggers a cutscene with Lady Lilith, Lilisette and Cait Sith. Heorot examines the Ornate Door again. He chooses the battlefield for "Maiden of the Dusk". This begins the battle against Lady Lilith. There are two phases to this battle. First, Heorot and company face Lady Lilith in her original form. She is Dark-based and resists Dark-elemental spells. She has various annoying AOEs at her disposal. A scene takes place after Lady Lilith is defeated. Unfortunately, she has another rick up her sleeve. She becomes Lilith Ascendant. After regaining control, Heorot and company have time to recover until they engage Lilith Ascendant. She is now Light-based and resists Light-based spells. One problem is that she can generate elemental Gyves, constructs that debuff party members close to them. Lilith Ascendant can also cast Silencega, which is obviously a big problem for spell-casters. Her Dark Moon inflicts 30-second Weakness, which can be disastrous. Heorot does not survive this battle, despite Reraise. Bastok Mines (time 22:24): Heorot regains control in Bastok Mines. He heads to the residential area. Mog House (time 22:55): Heorot changes his support job to White Mage. Then, he heads back out. Bastok Mines (time 23:22): Heorot uses the Survival Guide at I-9 to teleport to Rolanberry Fields, Derfland. Rolanberry Fields (time 24:09): Heorot arrives at the Survival Guide at G-6. He examines the glowing ??? near the Cavernous Maw at H-6. I thought that with the Lightsworm in inventory, this was supposed to teleport one to the Walk of Echoes, but perhaps this is blocked for now. Meanwhile, he and his allies continued grinding in the Dematode Highlands. Heorot reached Warrior Level 60. Now, the party will continue grinding in the Dematode Highlands. Glen (time 0:28): The party resumes in the church in Glen Castle Town. The party talks to Subjugation Member Garal at G-5/G-6. The "Strongest Man's Request" scroll is complete. The party earns 19 Wenal Shells (ウェナールシェル). At the pub, the party talks to Introducer Gargo. Heorot sets up a friend code for the "Lonely Tom's Request" scroll, a five-star difficulty request. The reward is a Golden Bow (黄金の飾り弓). The Golden Bow is not a weapon but a rare ingredient for the Sacred Lord's Bow. The party talks to Subjugation Member Garal at G-5/G-6 again. They sign up for the "Lonely Tom's Request" scroll. The base duration is 24 hours, but the friends that Heorot assigns reduce that to 20 hours. The party Zooms to the Oasis Caravan in East Gobul Desert. East Gobul Desert (time 5:12): The party arrives at the Oasis Caravan at E-5/F-5. After riding the underground mine carts northwest, they enter the Dematode Highlands at D-1. Dematode Highlands (time 5:56): The party starts at E-4. They go through the tunnel at F-5 and emerge at E-6 in the southern part of the zone. They use a Double Bubble and a Metal Perfume. Then, they begin hunting monsters in the area. Heorot reaches Warrior Level 61. He earns 1 skill point for a total of 3. The party takes out a trio of Liquid Metal Slimes (time 17:35). Heorot reaches Warrior Level 62. He earns 1 skill point for a total of 4. The party takes out three more Liquid Metal Slimes (time 21:02). The party clobbers a Metal King Slime (time 24:04). Heorot reaches Warrior Level 63. He earns 1 skill point for a total of 5. Heorot reaches Warrior Level 64. He earns 2 skill points for a total of 7. The party acquires the "Minister Chigri's Request" scroll, a five-star difficulty request. The reward is 2 Gold Bars (きんかい). The party defeats two more Liquid Metal Slimes (time 29:42). They take out another Metal King Slime (time 31:46). Heorot reaches Warrior Level 65. He learns the Warrior ability Charge Tackle (チャージタックル), which deals high damage and shocks the enemy. He earns 3 skill points for a total of 10. The party Zooms to Glen Castle Town. Glen (time 34:22): At the pub, Heorot changes his vocation to Level 51 Priest. He auto-equips a Demon Spear +3, which he keeps equipped. Under Wands, he spends 5 points on the ability Panipani Honey (パニパニハニー), 3 points on MP Absorption Rate +2% with a wand equipped, and 2 points on MP Absorption Rate +1% with a wand equipped. He removes the Gold and Silver Skill Up Panels from his Axe skill panel and installs them on his Spear skill panel. The player earns the accolade "King of Wands" for picking up 18 nodes on the Wand skill panel and the accolade "God of Wands" for picking up 20 nodes on the Wand skill panel. The party Zooms to the Oasis Caravan in East Gobul Desert. East Gobul Desert (time 38:02): The party arrives at the Oasis Caravan at E-5/F-5. They rest at the inn. They go through the tunnel at F-5 and emerge at E-6 in the southern part of the zone. They resume hunting monsters in the area. Heorot reaches Priest Level 52. He earns 1 skill point for a total of 1. The party uses a new Double Bubble and Metal Perfume when their current ones expire. Heorot reaches Priest Level 53. He earns 1 skill point for a total of 2. Under Wands, he spends 2 points on MP Absorption Rate +1% with a wand equipped. Heorot reaches Priest Level 54. He earns 1 skill point for a total of 1. The party Zooms back to Glen Castle Town. Glen (time 56:34): The party rests at the inn. They use the Alchemy Pot to make some Yggdrasil Dews and Faerie's Elixirs, partly to use up some Yggdrasil Leaves. At the concierge, they play a couple 10-ticket Tombola sessions for Double Bubbles. At the bazaar, the party picks up a set of Dragon Claws (ドラゴンクロー) for 8,800 gold. North Velinard Region (time 3:54): The party starts at the dock at D-5/E-5. They explore a little on their way northwest. At F-5, a random blue chest contains a Tombola Ticket. The party has already encountered many enemy types in the area. Weaken Beakons (デッドペッカー) appear in the west. Raguas reaches Level 39 and earns 9 skill points for a total of 12. Mjoll reaches Level 34 and earns 6 skill points for a total of 11. At A-3 in the west, pots contain a phial of Magic Water (まほうのせいすい) and Mini Medal #069, counting the 20 Heorot has exchanged so far. At A-2/B-2, a black chest contains an Yggdrasil Leaf (せかいじゅの葉). Outside the door to the Eternal Underground Labyrinth, a black chest at B-2/C-2 contains Mini Medal #070. Examining the crystal outside the entrance to the dungeon gives them the Eternal Underground Labyrinth destination on the Zoom Stone. At B-2/C-2, the party enters the Eternal Underground Labyrinth (永遠の地下迷宮). Eternal Underground Labyrinth (time 11:45): The party starts at D-5/E-5 on floor 1F. In the large western room, a pot at F-4 in the west contains 390 gold. A pot at F-5 in the southwest contains a jug of Fresh Water (きよめの水). A pot at H-4 in the east contains an Amor Seco Essence (アモールの水). The party takes the stairs at E-4 down to floor B1. They arrive at D-8. The party takes the door to the Chamber of the Seal at D-7. This triggers a scene with Odis and Catherine. The next destination is the throne room in Velinard Castle. After the scene, the party Evacs out of the labyrinth. North Velinard Region (time 19:33): The party Zooms to Velinard Castle Town. Velinard (time 19:48): Huli near the town entrance has story info. In the north, the party enters Velinard Castle at D-1/E-1. Velinard Castle (time 20:59): The party goes upstairs. On floor 3F, they take the door at D-4/E-5 to the throne room. There is another tense scene with the royal family. The next destination is the Royal Research Team's Office. The party goes down to floor 2F. Homine in the library has story info. At B-3, the party enters the Royal Research Team's Office for a scene with Prince Odis and Catherine. Next, the party must accompany Odis to the Ruins of Poetry in the Booner Rainforest beyond the Varth Mountain Forest northeast of the city. Odis joins the party as a guest. After the scene, Eligo in the Royal Research Team's Office has story info. The party goes down to 1F. At D-6/E-6, they take the main doors out of the castle. Velinard (time 32:09): The party rests at the inn. Huli near the town entrance has story info. The party Zooms to the Jungle Camp in the Booner Rainforest. Booner Rainforest (time 33:40): The party arrives at the Jungle Camp at F-7. Behind the item shop, barrels contain Mini Medal #071 and 550 gold. Next to the bank, a barrel contains a Special Medicine (特やくそう). At the bazaar, the party picks up the Beastly Bullwhip (ビーストウィップ) recipe, which requires Smithing Level 36, and the Ceremony Rod (セレモニーロッド) recipe, which requires Smithing Level 23.
