German Memorial Song: Der gute Kamerad (Armistice Day Special)
"Der gute Kamerad" ("The good Comrade"), also known by its incipit as Ich hatt' einen Kameraden ("I had a comrade") is a traditional lament of the German Armed Forces. The text was written by German poet Ludwig Uhland in 1809. Its immediate inspiration was the deployment of Badener troops against the Tyrolean Rebellion. In 1825, the composer Friedrich Silcher set it to music, based on the tune of a Swiss folk song.
The song is about the immediate experience of a soldier losing a comrade in battle, detached from all political or national ideology; as a result, its use was never limited to one particular faction and was sung or cited by representatives of all political backgrounds throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, and was translated for use in numerous fighting forces, French, Dutch, Spanish, Japanese and others.
"The Good Comrade" still plays an important ceremonial role in the German Armed Forces and is an integral part of a military funeral, continuing a tradition started at some point around 1871.
The song has also become traditional in obsequies of the Military of Austria, the Austrian firebrigades and the highly prussianized Chilean Army and the National Army of Colombia. It is also used to some degree in the French Army, particularly in the Foreign Legion. When the song is played, soldiers are to salute, an honour otherwise reserved for national anthems only.
Occasionally the song is played at civil ceremonies, most often when the deceased had been affiliated with the military. It is also commonly sung at the funerals of members of a Studentenverbindung. Finally, the song is often played on Volkstrauertag, the German Remembrance Day, at memorials for the fallen.

"Flower of Scotland" is a Scottish song, frequently performed at special occasions and sporting events as an unofficial national anthem of Scotland.
The song was composed in the mid-1960s by Roy Williamson of the folk group the Corries. It was first heard publicly in a 1967 BBC television series. The words refer to the victory of the Scots, led by Robert the Bruce, over Edward II of England at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. "Lijepa naša domovino" ("Our Beautiful Homeland") is the national anthem of Croatia. It is often referred to as just "Lijepa naša" ("Our Beautiful") in Croatia, which is also a phrase widely used as a metonym for the country. The anthem was written in 1835 by Antun Mihanović, and set to music composed by Josip Runjanin in 1846. It was partially adopted as anthem of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1919, and then readopted as the full national anthem of Croatia in 1972.

The "Marcha Real" (Royal March) is the national anthem of the Kingdom of Spain. It is one of only four national anthems in the world that has no official lyrics (although it had lyrics in the past, they are no longer used).
One of the oldest in the world, the Spanish national anthem was first printed in a document dated 1761 and entitled Book of the Ordinance of Newly Played Military Drum and Fife Calls by The Spanish Infantry, by Manuel de Espinosa. There, it is entitled "La Marcha Granadera" (March of the Grenadiers). According to the document, Manuel de Espinosa de los Monteros is the composer.

The "Swiss Psalm" (German: Schweizerpsalm) is the national anthem of Switzerland.
It was composed in 1841, by Alberich Zwyssig (1808–1854). Since then, it has been frequently sung at patriotic events. The Federal Council declined, however, on numerous occasions to accept the psalm as the official anthem. This was because the council wanted the people to express their say on what they wanted as a national anthem. From 1961 to 1981, it provisionally replaced "Rufst du, mein Vaterland" ("When You Call, My Country"), the anthem by Johann Rudolf Wyss (1743–1818) that was set to the melody of "God Save the King". On 1 April 1981, the Swiss Psalm was declared the official Swiss national anthem.

Kungssången (The King's Song) is the Swedish royal anthem. Although sung on such occasions as the King's birthday, the annual opening of the Riksdag and the Nobel Prize ceremony, the song is not considered the Swedish national anthem. Du gamla, Du fria is the de facto national anthem of Sweden, but has never been officially recognized.
The lyrics were written by Carl Vilhelm August Strandberg and the music composed for four part male chorus by Otto Lindblad.
Only the first and fifth stanzas are normally sung (and only the first if the King is present). The other three are very rarely ever heard.
