I heard about this when Caroline appeared on Bargain Hunt where Tim asked her what record she had recorded, 'Dream Boy'. I found it on Cat45, there were no images so I found it myself...
Caroline Hall - Dream Boy / Julie MM 689 1970
The two main labels are from the UK single. The picture sleeve is probably from Spain.

Lord Brynner - Martin Luther King.
Yes I realise the sentiment is more important than the sound, but this is how it was recorded, in Stereo.

The Tornados
Telstar
Jungle Fever
Decca F 11494 1962
Joe struggles to sleep this night. In the early hours a tune came to him
He rushed to 'hum' and 'sing' the melody onto tape.
He called it 'The Theme Of Telstar', this was stage one
stage two, also described in Joe Meeks 4 Disc Set, A Portrait Of A Genius, describes Dave Adams, Joes right hand man, transcribing Joes piece, one fingered onto a keyboard after breakfast the next day.
The Tornados recorded it the following Sunday
Writers struggle for perfection, it's hard to imagine what Robert George Meek felt when he finally finished this.
At the end of the second stage we hear an extract from the hit version.
We then hear a full imitation of what a Stereo mix would have sounded.
'this mix is not included in the box set'
..apologies,
I could not find the previous stereo mix of this to give recognition

Vera Lynn The Homing Waltz -- Yours Decca F 9959 1952
Before the birth of the 'New Musical Express' single's chart the UK relied on the sales of Sheet Music. There were a few attempts at this until May 1949 when the Music Publishers Association compiled a chart which was published by Melody Maker and the NME up until 1959. the first number one record being 'Here In My Heart -- Al Martino' Nov 15 1952 but it could have been Vera Lynn with The Homing Waltz as Vera Lynn was no.1 in the Sheet Music chart prior to Al Martino, even though Vera Lynn only appeared in the first singles chart at no.9 whilst You Belong To Me -- Jo Stafford at no.2...whoever it was, no-one remembers the runner up.
